Obituary of Jack Santa Lucia

Please share a memory of Jack to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Jack Santa Lucia passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home with his loving family by his side on Tuesday, August 13, 2019. He was 74 years young.

Born in Paterson to the late Frank and Mary Santa Lucia, he was raised in Fair Lawn. He graduated from Fair Lawn High School class of 1962. He proudly served our country in the United States Army in the Vietnam War as part of the 27th Engineer Battalion. Upon his honorable discharge, he was awarded the Bronze Star as well as National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and an Army Expert Marksmanship Badge for Rifle M-14. With his knowledge of engineering from the U.S. Army, he became a Mechanical Engineer, starting his company Independent Machine Co., currently located in Fairfield. He was a very hard and dedicated worker. In his later years, he was an avid reader, mainly of books about the military. Above all else, his family came first in his life. He will always be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. His legacy of unconditional love and laughter will continue on for generations.

He leaves only joyful memories to his beloved wife of 35 years, Susan Santa Lucia; his adored daughters, Diane Aubrey and her husband Simon and Lauren Simpson and her husband Mason; his cherished grandchildren, Hayden and Tiernan Aubrey and Ford and Brody Simpson; and his caring sister, Fay Altamura and her husband Len.

Memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, August 17th from 2 - 6 pm with Funeral Service beginning at 5:30 pm at Norman Dean Home for Services, 16 Righter Ave., Denville.
