Obituary of Terry Lee Blanchard
Terry Lee Blanchard passed peacefully on Wednesday, July 10, 2019. He shared 76 years of love and laughter with his family. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, July 15th at 4 o’clock in the afternoon at the New Hope Community Church, 52 Cooper Road, Denville. Friends and relatives may visit on Sunday, July 14th from 2-4 & 6-8 at the Norman Dean Home For Services, 16 Righter Ave., Denville. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts be designated to LVAD Transplant Unit at Mayo Clinic. Gifts can be mailed directly to Mayo Clinic, Department of Development, 4500 San Pablo Road; Jacksonville, FL 32224.
Terry was born in Dover to the late Floyd and Marion Blanchard. While attending Morris Hills High School, he met Mary Jean Crooks. After graduation the couple married and settled in Denville. They raised seven children and made a good life. Terry worked hard as an auto technician with Trend Motors for many years. After his retirement, he found time for his most enjoyable hobby, wood working. Above everything, his grandchildren were his world, all twenty-one of them! He loved making handmade gifts for his children and grandchildren and relished in showing them how to work with the tools themselves. In June, he was blessed to celebrate his last birthday with all of his family with him. Terry was a devoted husband, loving Dad and adored Grandpa. He was truly a blessed man. Although we are saddened by his passing, we take comfort in knowing he is with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in Heaven.
He leaves behind a legacy with his wife Mary Jean of 54 years. His beloved children are Jeanine Wells, Robin Bond (Chad), Joe (Jennifer), Jonathan (Margaret), Catherine Lucid (Keith), Melanie Arink (Curtis), Danielle McDonald (Michael). His cherished grandchildren are Isaac and his fiancee Bethany, John, Elizabeth, Ethan, Emalee, Andrew, Kaylie, Julia, Thomas, Alyssa, Lena, David, James, Connor, Skyler, Tanner, Willow, Addison, Jack, Emma and Logan. His also leaves his precious siblings, Gail McDaniel, Jean Muller and Richard Blanchard; his siblings who have gone before him are Pat Bartel, Carol Nunn, and Shirley Chew. Terry, who was a friend and mentor to all, will be deeply missed.
Please share your memories of Terry here. His family will cherish them forever.
