Obituary of Jay John Bartolotta
Jay John Bartolotta, of Rockaway Township, passed away suddenly on Monday, May 14, 2018 at St. Clare’s Denville Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. He was 71 years young.
Born and raised in Michigan to Jean Bartolotta and the late John Bartolotta, he has been a Rockaway resident since 1978. He married the love of his life, Ellen J. Bogits, in 1975. They had a very big loving family together and nothing brought him more joy than being one big, happy, sarcastic family. Family was number one in his life. Jay’s hobbies included golfing, cars, and watching sports, especially his Detroit Lions. Whenever we smell the aroma of a sweet cigar and a good bourbon, we will think of Jay and all the happy memories he has left us with.
His legacy will continue to live on in his beloved wife, Ellen; his loving mother, Jean Bartolotta; his adored children, Sarah Bartolotta Russell, Abby (Alexander) Mandato, Jonathan (Danielle) Bartolotta, and Andrew Bartolotta; his cherished grandchildren, Nicholas J. Bartolotta Russell and Emma J. Russell; his caring sister, Janet Hughes; and many extended family and friends.
Public Visitation will take place on Friday, May 18th from 4 – 8 pm at Norman Dean Home for Services, 16 Righter Ave., Denville, NJ. Funeral Service will take place on Sat., May 19th at 10:00 am at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow at St. Cecilia Cemetery, Rockaway.
