Greetings: I'm very sorry for your loss. I went through a similar situation and I was very helped by the hope that I found in the Bible in John 5:28, which says, "Do not amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out". I am sending you a link with more information on this hope.

I write poems sometimes and wrote this over the past couple days. I might be reading it t the service. FYI - the title is a reference to a poem I wrote about Oma, which I can send people if they're interested in reading it too.
Daughter of the Wave
I see your face in the mirror,
your cheekbones peering out from behind mine,
my lipstick hovering over your chin.
My first lipstick was yours,
staining my milk pink during a break from wobbling in your old heels.
I scrabble in your wake, gathering old jewelry like seashells.
I’ll fit earrings for earlobes never pierced over the holes in mine
preserving your treasures as you slip into the deep.
Your mother was a wave,
and I send glittery cards from Papyrus after you
as you are drawn out to sea.
Your mother was a wave,
and I see her flow through you
as I see you flow through me.
I will sit at the beach and breathe the scent of brine,
staring into the horizon.
The ocean is infinite and I don’t know where you’ve gone.
I will hold your seashells –
my touchstones –
turning them in my hand
like the surf churns my memories,
wearing them smooth as sea glass
My memories are treasures
and I will keep them until the sea draws me after you.
I watch the tide go out and bundle my memories into my heart.
Safe, until I see you next.

I recognize this picture of Mr. & Mrs. Woelfel (and I still have a hard time referring to them as Ernie & Edda). Looks to me like this picture was taken in their lakefront yard, at their home in Lake Arrowhead - with their backs to the one small island in the lake - or maybe they are standing on the dock that Mike built? (The one Tony and I build didn't last long.) Was the picture taken on Tony and Val's wedding day? Or later?
Looking forward to seeing you all when we gather later in June for the Memorial Service - to celebrate her life, and give witness to the resurrection.

Mike and family,
I'm very sorry to hear of the passing of you mother. She was always the nicest person. I have great memories of being at your home in Lake Arrowhead when we were children.
I will have her and your family in my prayers.
