Obituary of Joan Scafati

Joan Scafati (nee Theodore), passed away peacefully at on Monday, September 19th. She was 80 years young. Memorial Visitation will be held on Friday, September 23rd from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Norman Dean Home for Services, 16 Righter Ave, Denville. Please share your memories of Joan for her family. Born in Orange to the late William and Mildred Theodore, Joan was one of 3 children. After her schooling she met and married Claude Scafati. The couple settled in Roseland, NJ and started a family of their own. Joan worked as an executive assistant with Prudential for over 20 years. She enjoyed the Beach, Cruises, Cards and Roulette, but out of everything else in this world, her family meant the most. The sun rose and set on her grandchildren. She was so very proud of each of them and all of their accomplishments. Most recently, Joan was blessed with two great grandchildren. Her legacy of love and family will live on in all who had the treasure of knowing her. She leaves happy memories to her husband Claude of 60 years; her children Cheryl of Barnegat, NJ; Lee and wife Rosmarie of Denville, NJ; Scott and wife Danarae of Rockaway Twp., NJ; Glenn and wife Denise of Roxbury, NJ; her adoring 9 grandchildren, Jennifer, Trevor, Christopher, Matthew, Timothy, Erika, Samantha, Mason, Hunter; 2 great grandchildren, Sarah and Kyle; Sister Dorothy Minelli and Brother William Theodore.
