I just learned today that Charlie passed away. I came to know Charlie while working at MasterCard. And while I was only there 2 years Charlie was the kind of guy people always remember. His honesty and straightforwardness redefined the term transparency. His focus was always family. I am richer for having known him. I am sorry for this loss and offer condolences to his family.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the Pilger family for their recent loss. Through Donna his daughter I met Charlie only a few times and was impressed by his charismatic personality and immediately felt at ease around him. Both Charlie and Ellen did a great job in raising a great family and should be very proud of that. Knowing Charlie he will be more involved in watching over his family as distance will no longer be an issue for him. God Bless you Charlie and God Bless all of your family may you rest in peace. My heartfelt condolence to the Pilger family. I was a colleague of Charlie's at both IBM and at Mastercard. Charlie always wore a smile on his face, and had a story to tell to make you laugh. He never had a bad word to say about anyone. This world needs more people with his outlook on life. He will always be remembered by those who knew him. May you rest in peace Charlie.

Dear Ellen, Dawn, Donna and Jenny, Words cannot begin to express how sad I was to learn about Charlie. When Angel called me on Monday, I could hardly comprehend what she was saying! Even though I didn't get to spend a lot of time with Charlie in the last few years, I will always remember him with the broadest smile on his face and a very kind and sweet disposition. Of course, we know that God has the master plan, but sometimes we just don't understand what it is. I'm sure that in HIS infinite wisdom, He knew it was time, but that certainly doesn't heal the sorrow and sadness in all of our hearts. I am SO sorry that I will not be able to attend the wake or funeral, as my children have made plans for my birthday, and it also impossible for me to get away from work during the day. Once again my deepest sympathy on this tragic loss. A bright light in all of our lives has certainly been extinquished. Love, Trina

Dear Ellen and family, I could not believe Angel's email this morning. Charlie, as I remember him, was such an exceptional man. In every way he loved you Ellen. (Even back to nursing school when he sent you a note that simply said " I love you Miss Mulhall". Thats just one small moment in time I remember.
