Obituary of Sandra Guernsey Sebastian

Please share a memory of Sandra to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Sandie was born March 20, 1949 in Utica, NY to parents Jeanette and Charles Guernsey. Early years growing up were spent in Waldwick, NJ. In her teen years, the family moved to Delaware where she played basketball (state champions!), baseball, and track. She was also a Cheerleader.

Enjoyable summers were always spent at the family camp with cousins on Fourth Lake, Old Forge, NY – fond memories of swimming, water skiing, and hiking on mountain trails. She worked in Management for the Prudential Financial Services offices in Atlanta and NJ. After retirement she was the Director of the Denville Community Church Nursey School. She was active in community services, the Denville Township Recreation Committee, Girl Scouts, and PTA.

She loved gardening and her dogs. She had a fondness for games and especially enjoyed playing cards with family and friends. She was an excellent cook and entertainer and loved to party! Of special remembrance were her many hosted “Halloween Parties”. She will always be remembered for her strength and positive outlook. She always “looked on the bright side of life”.

She lovingly leaves behind 3 daughters, Lori Sebastian, Katie Danbury and her husband Robert, and Jamie Christy and her husband Jay; and five grandchildren, Eva, Wes, Annabelle, Ella and Hunter; as well as Stan, her husband of 42 years.

Memorial Visitation will be held on Monday, March 27th from 4 – 8 pm with a Celebration of Life to begin at 7:45 pm at Norman Dean Home for Services, 16 Righter Avenue, Denville. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are being accepted in Sandie’s memory to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741 (with the printed and filled out insert that can be found on the tab to your left), or by clicking here. Please leave a condolence, light a candle, or share your favorite memory of Sandie here to continue to celebrate her life and let her light shine.
