Obituary of Joyce Ann Peterson

Please share a memory of Joyce to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Joyce Ann Peterson passed away peacefully in her home on February 17, 2023 in Denville, NJ at the age of 77. Joyce was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many.

Joyce was born in Morristown, NJ and remained in Morris County. She completed her education then moved on to starting her family. She married the love of her life Walter in 1966 and the rest was history. They bought their forever home in Denville shortly after and have been a part of the Denville community for 52 years. While living here she established life long friendships and a love for bird watching out of her very own front window. She also built traditions, every Christmas eve the whole family would get together at their home to eat, drink, and enjoy each other’s company. Joyce loved her children and her grandchildren unconditionally and always put them first. When she had some down time, she enjoyed a warm blanket and her soap operas. Joyce cherished her fond memories of Jersey shore family vacations, going to Sarasota Florida, and Ocean City Maryland.

Joyces memory will live on forever through her devoted husband of 56 years Walter Peterson. Her loving sons James (Kelly) Peterson, Louis Peterson and his girlfriend Diane, and Mark (Linda) Peterson. Her sweet grandchildren Michael, Carolyn, Aidan, Olivia, Carly, and Connor Peterson. She is predeceased by her parents James and Mae McLane.
