Obituary of Gary Alan Large

Gary Alan Large passed away, surrounded by his family and friends at St. Clare’s Hospital in Denville, NJ after a brief illness on October 21, 2022, at the age of 69.

Gary was born in Kearny and grew up in Parsippany before moving to the Indian Lake section of Denville, NJ 39 years ago where he raised his family and participated in all the activities the community had to offer.

He worked in real estate for over 45 years and was currently with the North Central Jersey Association of Realtors in the following capacities Government Affairs Director, Broker of Record for the North Central Jersey Association’s New Jersey Referral Network, Director of the North Central Jersey Association of Realtors School of Business and Expert Witness for the State of New Jersey on Agency. He served as the President of the West Essex Board of Realtors, the North Central Jersey Association of Realtors and the New Jersey Realtors. He was also a Broker Manager at Weichert Realtors as well as Prudential New Jersey Properties Berkshire Hathaway.

Gary loved to spend time on his precious boat, the “Miss Stephanie”, whether it was cruising around off his back yard in Indian Lake, or having the ability to make right hand turns up in Lake George, or even at the Jersey Shore encircling Long Beach Island, he was a happy man on his ship. He also loved to play golf, and watch his NY Giants and NY Mets, as well as cooking up some of his favorite recipes. Gary was a member and past chief of the Rainbow Lakes Fire Department. He was a member, and past President of the Indian Lake Community Club, as well as a trustee for over 20 years. Gary was an Ordained Minister, and has performed numerous weddings, as well as a Deacon and parishioner at the Parsippany Presbyterian Church.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 33 years Tammy Ann (Doran) Large of Denville, his loving daughter Stephanie Large of Silver Spring, MD, and his loving siblings Kevin and his wife Laura Large of Succasunna, and Leslie Large of Budd Lake, NJ, as well as his in laws Tommy and his wife Kathy Doran, Randy and his wife Denise Doran, Marybeth and her wife Sherri Doran, and Timmy Doran.  He is also survived by his nieces and nephews Darren and his wife Jessica Large, Douglas and his wife Karin Large, Breanne and her husband Tim Burke, Brandon, and his wife Melissa Large, Tom Doran, Travis Doran, Carly Doran, and Sadie Doran.
