Ron joined the "Flintlocks" a few years before covid. This is a group of retired men who work every Thursday all year round to help the scout camps. With his background as a shop teacher in school, he had invaluable skills. Ron painted almost every structure in the camp, including the dining hall. His school did not have a budget for supplies, so Ron purchased a personal sawmill to cut lumber to provide wood for his students. He later donated the sawmill to the camp. With his help, we cut up an old oak tree which fell in a storm. We used the wood to make the floor in the Wink Dousa cabin kitchen, and later to make 6 beautiful oak tables and 12 benches which are now at the Winter Lodge. Ron was always happy, altruistic, a great guy, and will be missed.
