Please share your memories here.  Dan’s family will cherish them.

Daniel was born in Orange to the late Daniel and Mary (nee Magliaro) Marcketta.  After HS graduation he was drafted into the US Army and served our country during Vietnam. He was stationed in Germany.  Upon his honorable discharge, he returned home and began a longtime career with the USPS.  He was a letter carrier in Short Hills and made great friendships along the way.  In 1982 he was blessed to meet Leslie Taylor, and the rest was history.  They were in love and married on March 12, 1983.  Soon, they settled in Maplewood and Dan became a proud and doting Dad.  He worked even harder now to give his family a beautiful life.

In his spare time, he was an avid gardener and usually had a bounty of vegetables for friends and neighbors. He tinkered often and could always be found taking on a new DIY project at home. He could fix just about anything.

He enjoyed family vacations at the NJ shore and spending time with his fellow Veterans at the Livingston VFW. His happiest times of course though were spent with his family.  He was over the moon to be told he was going to be a Grandpa.  His best gift yet arrived in June and she is perfection.  Although we are saddened by his passing, we take comfort in knowing he is at peace and guiding us always.

He leaves joyful memories to his wife Leslie of 38 years; his sons Daniel (Suzanne) and Michael (Jessica); his granddaughter Zoe Alexandra; his sister Dianne Jones; his loyal grand pups Mia and Herman and many more dear relatives and friends.
