Obituary of Arlene M. McGregor
Arlene McGregor passed peacefully on February 22, 2021, just a few hours shy of her 95th birthday. Her life was full of love and faith and she will be missed dearly by her beloved family. A private gathering and prayer service was held under the direction of the Norman Dean Home For Services. Donations in Arlene’s memory may be made to support The Progeria Research Foundation in their search for a cure for her great grandson, Miles.
Arlene was born on February 23, 1926 to the late Harold and Marion (nee Watt) Hall. She was one of two children to bless the Hall family. As a young girl growing up in Clifton, her family would summer in the Cedar Lake section of Denville, NJ. She enjoyed her time there so much that she knew she would one day want to raise a family of her own at the lake. She did just that. Arlene raised her five children on Cedar Lake. She loved her beloved Denville and spent many years working at Valleyview School as a secretary. Also during that time, she was owner of the Arrow Diner. When she was home, she enjoyed tending to her gardens and cheering on the Mets. She was an avid bridge player and spent many years with the Denville Seniors and Denville Community Church. In her later years, the Oaks became her new home where she made numerous friendships. Above everything she shared with us, her love was the best. This family matriarch surely will be missed but her love, lessons and traditions will live on.
She was predeceased by her beloved sister, Janet Marshall, and her longtime companion, Robert Moran. She leaves joyful memories to her children Susan McGregor, Pamela Wegge, Jeffrey McGregor, Peter McGregor and Nancy Wang; her nine adored grandchildren Jennifer, Amy, Laura, Leah, Melissa, Peter, Caity, Stacy, and Sarah; and seven adorable great grandchildren.
