When we moved to glacier Hills in the 70s, we were lucky to be the next-door neighbors of Bobby Hackman and family. We have so many special memories of those times and for 40 years after I moved away. Our fondest first memories of her were her wonderful sticky buns, farmers breakfast, and welsh rabbit! I also would like to say that we had fun making cocktails of the month using The liquor store annual calendar as our guide. My children and I were also lucky to be invited to stay at their Christmas tree farm in Pennsylvania. We had many wonderful experiences there including creating art work on the walls and jumping off of the barn Hay loft windows onto old mattresses. After we moved away, Bobby would visit us wherever we were. She became a world traveler and I loved receiving her letters and creative poems which I have kept to this day. She was truly a gifted human being and I consider her as one of my dearest friends forever. She is now one of the brightest lights in the universe and I will miss her terribly. I am sending my deepest condolences to the family. I know it will be a comfort to the family to know that She lived her life to the fullest every single day. Sending love to you all, Lynn Prisco

Barbara and Robert were largely responsible for urging me to have my first art exhibit of my quilts at the Senior Center in Iowa City where Barbara was an active participant in many programs including creating videos for the Center. She did an extensive interview and filming at our apartment about my art work.
They were both long time shoppers at New Pioneer Co-op in Iowa City where I worked for 35 years.

I met Barbara and Robert Norris in my hometown of Clutier, Iowa.
They purchased a home I had previously lived in.
One day i was parked in front of their house while attending a Church Service across the street. When I returned to my car a note on the windshield from Barbara saying, "Time for a cup of tea?"
For the next almost 40 years no matter where we both lived we always stayed in touch and visited each other!
This photo is from 2011 when Barbara visited me in Arizona. We visited Arcosanti to listen to Paolo Soleri speak. A wonderful day!
Thank you Barbara for referring to me as "The Daughter of Your Heart" and Thank you for being "The Mother of My Heart"!

I cherish my times with cousin Babs who was with me from earliest memories in Omaha, and who always tried to meet up with us wherever we were. She and her lifetime partner Robert visited us in Alabama, Florida, Corona California, (at our daughter Elizabeth’s house), Illinois, and we stopped several times in Iowa. We were also together in Vermont at Megs and Sherri Kastens home. We shared wonderful times. Babs was adventuresome, highly creative in her travel writings and other prose, artistic, and she and cousin Phyllis visited us even at the beach in Navarre, Florida...with Veto Miller and Robert .I see we are all travelers! We were the three that our mothers had been as sisters. Our mothers were Anna Schmoker Prochazka, Clara Schmoker Woodward, and Bab’s mother was Lydia Schmoker Heck. May our descendants live as full a life and remember her gifts and heritage.
