I just heard about Steve. I am shocked and so sad. I just remember him as a happy smiling guy and his smile was contagious. My prayers and sorrow extended to Jackie and her family during this very, very difficult time.

Steve was my host dad for my high school year when I was an international student. He is generous, kind and helpful. He loves dogs and he is a great cook. Him and Jacquie gave me so much warmth and love, which I truly appreciate over all these years. After I went to NYC for college, I still visited him and his family often and every time he picked me up at the train station I felt like I was welcomed home. While I talked about my life in NYC in the car he always encouraged me, “I know you will do great Tina.” His words and kindness means so much to me. He is my best host dad and will always be. I will always remember him. —Tina Yi

Although we did not know Steve that well, we often heard from his parents, Tom and Judy Kelly, of his tremendous love for his family and the charitable organizations to which he dedicated his life. They are so proud of the kind and giving man he became. We can’t understand God’s reason for taking this kind and giving servant when he was spreading so much good will on this earth. We pray that our Lord Jesus Christ will give his family his blessings and comfort as He accepts Steve in his heavenly home.
Our love and blessings to his family. Fred and Ruth Meier

We could not believe the news even after speaking to our dear friend Jackie. Steve and Jackie are thoughtful, kind, giving and love life. God in His wisdom has called Steve home much earlier than his family and friends are prepared for, but He must have a reason. Even if it’s to prepare a beautiful home in Heaven for sometime long in the future when he sees his beautiful children and wife again. Rest In Peace. Heartfelt prayers to Steve and Jackie’s family. They will be in our family’s rosary.

It truly hurts our hearts to hear of your sudden passing. You and Jacquie were like one person. Loving and supportive of each other through all of life's changes, good and bad. The dog whisperer, as all of the lucky dogs who sat on your lap and recieved your love and attention through out the years would find you. You will be very missed and never forgotten. We will be there for you Jacquie in any way you may need us. So truly sorry for your tremendous loss. With deepest sympathy. Vicki, Bruce and Kristen

September 2007, I backed in my driveway to my new home and started to unload the cars. Stacie told me I should take my bandana off so the new neighbors don’t get a bad impression. As I ignored her and continued on I heard this voice say “Welcome, I’m Steve.” As I looked up at this tall lanky man only to see he was wearing the same color bandana atop his head...that moment...we were destined to be neighbors.
I already miss walking outside and hearing you say your typical “Hey what’s up?” across the fence. You were the most humble, selfless, and relaxed person I know. You had nothing but love for your family, friends and anyone around you. Because of that, Jacquie is in good hands. She has great kids you raised, loving friends, dogs, relatives, as well as awesome neighbors who all love her and will take care of her for you.
I thanked you a thousand times for all the home improvement lessons, grilling advice, and fun times by the fire pit but I wish I could say thank you once more. I will miss you but never forget you. Team Valley View forever!
Not all heroes wear capes or masks but apparently you did sometimes according to this photo lol. Rest easy neighbor, until we meet again.

Steve,
We are so saddened that this happened to such a wonderful person. You truly were taken away from your family and all of your friends way to soon. We will miss seeing you daily and our lives will never be the same. We are still in such shock and disbelief. This hurt will never go away. Looking outside doesn’t feel the same and never will! We will do our best to help take care of Jacquie. We love you and will never forget you. I still remember meeting you the first day we moved in, we knew we were blessed with amazing neighbors that became friends for life.
Stacie, Dave, Devyn and Dylan
