My deepest condolences to the Renaldi family, from the Knowles. We were fortunate to have been blessed with her graces through the years. My grandmother Doris cherished her friendship with Millie. I am grateful that I got the chance to meet her in later years and hear all of her Manor stories. She was always a legend in my mind. The pictures I have collected show what an absolute gem of a person she was. Radiant, uplifting, kind, up for any occasion, and bringing adorable, glamorous life to the party, especially in the early glory days of The Manor. She and Anthony Sr were an integral part of those years. I'm sure they are enjoying a glamorous banquet in heaven together! Rest in peace, Millie. Love, Keri Knowles

Heaven must have been missing an Angel!
To the Rinaldi family and all that had the pleasure of knowing Millie, I send my heartfelt sympathy. To me, she was a true mentor and one of the best friends I’ve had throughout my life. We shared so many great memories, especially those years we worked together at The Manor.
Seldom, along our journey, do we have the opportunity to meet someone of her character -- a genuine person with a warm, loving heart and a great sense of humor. She will be missed, I know.
Thank you Anthony-- for your beautiful writing about your mom on this web page. And thank you ” Dougie” for reminding us about her iconic Cadillacs! :)
With love and respect,

Aunt Millie and I are Aries and love life, laughing and people. Family was always first. We had years of fun growing up together with Cindy and Anthony and all the times we spent together as a family and all the best summers we had in Maine growing up.
Aunt Millie you will be in our hearts forever, I hope you are with Uncle Anthony, Mom and your family. Just remember when my Mom wants to have a race don't go first (lol).

Aunt Millie always had a big smile, and I remember when she visited us when I was a boy. There are two things that I remember the most. First, she looked for the humor in situations and second, she liked to tease and joke. I think of these qualities because they lightened the worries of those she knew. I will always remember the heartfelt smile she gave me when I was young. Through the years her warm greeting when meeting people never faded.

As a kid,I grew up across the street from the Rinaldi's and to this day I am still good friends with Anthony and Jennifer. In fact, Anthony saved my life a few years ago but that's a true story for another day(Thanks again!!!).
Two things clearly stick out in my mind about Millie growing up and one was the only car she drove was a cadillac. The second thing was their house was the only house that had dry cleaners trucks picking up and dropping off her dresses for her job at the Manor, which was something I never saw before back in the day.
To this day, Millie has always called me Dougie not Doug or Douglas and by doing so she always made me feel like a kid again. Millie and her late husband Anthony Sr. played such a huge role in my life and influenced me in so many ways. They both will be truly missed. They are with the lord now and together again.

My Aunt Millie was one of a kind! She really knew how to live, love, laugh and make others laugh! When I think of her, one of my memories was of she and her many Cadillacs. One time, I was quite little and was riding in one of her Caddies with cousin Anthony who got a nosebleed. Aunt Millie told him not to get any blood on her upholstery! (Funny the stuff we remember!) As many have said, she really knew how to entertain and my folks (her sister) Ruth and Dad (George) so enjoyed their many visits to she and Uncle Anthony’s where they were treated like royalty.
She had amazing style. She had pizazz. She loved Uncle Anthony and together they made the most wonderful couple. We shall miss her and cherish our memories of a beautiful soul. Our deepest sympathy to Anthony and Cindy and their families. Much love to you all.

I remember years ago that I was in NY state with my friend Anthony.
His family owned some wooded acreage with a trailer up there and they frequently invited
friends and family for camping and recreation.
On one particular weekend outing, his parents, Millie and Anthony Sr., popped in for a short
visit with us. I can still close my eyes and see Anthony Sr. leaning against his Cadillac and telling
me the following as he pointed directly to Millie:
"You see her? She makes life beautiful."
I think that's a perfectly fitting and proper summation of her life.
May she rest in peace.
Your friend,
Phil

Some people come into our life and leave their footprints on our heart. Millie is unforgettable! She was so many things…she was elegant, she was glamorous, she was fashionable, she was a hard worker. Millie was knowledgeable…she was fun. She knew the best places in NY City to dine [mom and I shared many good times with Millie back in the day]. Millie had a talent for entertaining. She was one of the best cooks ever…Millie’s stuffed peppers were the best! Millie was authentic…she was “the real deal”. Millie was generous and she understood the value of friendship. She was a loving friend to mom, through thick and thin, until the day mom died. Millie cherished her family… she loved her husband, her children and her grandchildren unconditionally. My heart is broken…I shall miss Millie more than my simple words can express.
With deepest sympathy to her family and to all those who loved her,

Where to begin? …
Aunt Millie was a beautiful, bright light in the world … touching so many with her kindness, love, joy, and generosity. Millie possessed a huge heart and was always there to listen to and help others. She had a great smile and wonderful laugh and could so easily make us laugh, too. Her kidding and light-heartedness were a great source of fun at all family gatherings … even the dog enjoyed her teasing!
Aunt Millie’s love for and devotion to Uncle Anthony … and his love for and devotion to her … were a beautiful example to us all that true love can and does exist in this troubled world.
Thank you, Aunt Millie for being such a great example of how to live this life. I have so many loving memories of you. You will always be in my heart.
Thinking of you, Anthony, Jen, Cindy, and your families with much love,
Barbara Ann and Michael

I met the Rinaldi family at The Life Christian Church, West Orange. I later began to work for Anthony when he ran his business from his home. I saw Millie often when she came by to visit him. When she and I were confined at Merry Heart in Boonton, Anthony came to visit often. When he did, he brought ice cream for for Millie. I benefited too. He never failed to bring some for me. When he was not able to visit, I would go to her room to see her. We chatted and laughed and enjoyed each other's company. Though I am saddened by her passing, I am glad for her. She is safe in the Father's arms now and at peace. She is healed and whole once again. May the Lord bless her family and friends as they mourn their loss.

Sending our love and deepest sympathies to Anthony, Jennifer and the entire family on the sad passing of Millie. We were neighbours to Millie and Anthony in Upper Montclair many years ago and have some wonderful memories of them both.
Millie was so welcoming and kind, always including Roger and I in her family celebrations especially at Christmas. I remember also when we had Grace and my Mum flew over from the UK. Millie was so wonderful, she helped my Mum get a taxi to the hospital and even gave her money to pay for it.
Rest in peace dearest Millie, reunited with Anthony in heaven.

I was so sad to hear the dreadful news of Millies passing. My Condolences got out to Anthony and Jennifer and the rest of the Family, sorry for your loss.
I have known Millie and her Husband Anthony many years having been their neighbour in Upper Montclair and recall the many parties and gatherings at their house. Life circumstances brought Millie and I closer after her husband’s Anthonys death and a failed relationship for me, where she was very comforting for me and reassuring, the nicest lady you could ever meet. I still recall the laughs and tears the two of us had at her kitchen table and can picture her face clearly in my minds eye sitting in her kitchen.
It’s not just me she had an affect on, my Family are very fond of her and will be sad to hear the news. I also have witness ed her thoughtfulness and kindness to other people she would meet along our way.
God Bless and Rest In Peace Love x

When I first signed up to lead and host a LIFE Group ( Life in a family environment) at our church, similar to having Bible Study, I was apprehensive about approaching anyone to join us at our home. That’s when I gained enough courage to approach Ms Millie, Anthony and Jen, because of how sweet and friendly they were. Ms Millie laughed at me as I practically begged her to be our first guest, one evening at church, and when she said ‘Sure’,we scored 3 people at one go! Hence began a beautiful friendship, one with deep love and mutual respect, one I wouldn’t trade with anything.
Ms Millie was the matriarch in our group. She gave sound advice, made us laugh and treated us like one of her own. She always told me how blessed Anthony was to have Jen as his wife. She loved and respected Jen, and was a wonderful mother in law.
Her Pasta Fazool was second to none!
And she always had a twinkle in her eyes! Always.
I once attended her friend’s wake with her. I always knew that she was one of a kind but I had a new and profound appreciation for her at this wake.
Her friends and former colleagues gathered around her and they exchanged stories. I watched and listened and was in awe at how much they loved and respected her. They told stories about how hard they worked, how much they loved their jobs, how high her heels were, how beautiful her clothes were ,how much fun they had and the mischief they were up to. She was definitely the leader in that group.
I left that wake 3 hours later having had a time of my life!
She once took me to hospital to get some stitches out. You know when you’re feeling sick and all you want is your mommy, well, she was my mommy that day. Even as I write this, my tears are welling up. She was there for me, when my mom was thousands of miles away.
I’ll never forget her.
Ms Mille will always have a special place in my heart. She was kind, loving and caring. I will miss her tenderness and the joy she brought everywhere she went.
We love you Ms Millie. Thank you for giving yourself to us .

By the Grace of God Almighty, Millie Rinaldi, my mother, at the age of 90 went home to be with the Lord comfortably at her home Wednesday evening only a few hours after I having a FaceTime video call with her daughter Cindy. Mildred was a wonderful woman. She was full of life and a lover of people. A woman with a quick wit and charming charisma. A well-respected woman of grace and beauty with many friends. She connected with people well. She loved good people but not the other kind. She said a lair is worse than a thief.
She was a hard worked. She worked as a leader managing 4 departments of women, cashiers, cocktail waitresses, coat check girls and the telephone operators at the Manor Restaurant in its heyday where her 20 + year career blossomed. She was made for the spotlight and was glamorous. She worked very hard to often days and nights. A real woman of strength, full of life and love. She had an incredible wardrobe and wore it well. I am glad my father was a strong man because she was a looker!
She was a woman of quite faith too. As a child she never missed church, not that her devote father would have allowed it! I heard from my cousin that her father never ate a meal without praying over it. She made sure her children were brought up in church too. In the process I learned to love the Lord and the joy of giving. She was truly blessed.
She had many friends and they enjoyed being with Millie and she loved them and made them laugh. She was memorable. Wherever Jennifer and I would go out together with her and dad, we often ran into someone that knew her my wife Jennifer noticed. Her sister Ruth told me the other day she was fun and funny. Millie could tell one joke after another and Ruth was a good audience.
Millie was a great cook too. She could make some amazing dinners whenever Jennifer and I would just stop by for a drink or to say hi to get the kids. She could take whatever she had in the refrigerator and whip up something amazing.
She was a great grandparent too and we lived close, so we were able to take her up on it. My kids will tell you the impact she had on them for good is immeasurable. They could tell her anything and she would listen and never nag. Always a trusted friend and mentor, she let them be real people and they blossomed spending many hours with them often. My mother and dad were great in-laws too Jennifer will tell you. There was a mutual respect and love. They often helped us by taking the kids when we had somewhere to go or if Jennifer had to work. They were fun to be with too.
Her parties with her husband Anthony, were legendary. An open home, all good-hearted people were welcome, relatives, neighbors, and friends and many came. Every Christmas Eve she'd throw an amazing party where she'd cooked the most delicious foods, set an amazing table with hors d'oeuvres, sumptuous seafood, Italian specialties and Chateaubriand for Danny her son- in-law that didn’t other things. She did is all by herself even though she worked full time. She always made sure there she had a nice thoughtful gift for everyone that came. She was generous and kind. She gave whatever she had and yet in her life I noticed that she never suffered lack.
We were truly blessed to have known her. She had a light in her and boy did it shine! Was she perfect? Only to me. May God rest her soul until that glorious day when Christ comes in power for his followers of which see is one.
Anthony Rinaldi (son)

The moment I received the news Millie passed, one image immediately crossed my mind: wedding dress.
It was 1981, I had little spare time, no family close by and a wedding date set. Then came Millie to the rescue. She found a seamstress, helped me choose material and style, and went with me for fittings - just like a sister would do! She was warm, giving, and without duplicity. We shared great times and laughs "roughing it up" at their trailer in the Catskills, or elegantly "wining and dining" in Manhattan's best restaurants.
Beautiful soul, may you rest in peace in the presence of our Lord.
And may you once again enjoy the company of your family and that special person, Anthony.
Love,
