Hey Betty Ann...Remember as kids all of the Sundays we passed on the swing in the backyard at 41 Hawkins Street? You were always a special cousin to me.
Over the years, we went our separate ways and lost touch, but my thoughts of you and the kind person that I know you to be, will never change.
With Love,
Your cousin Eddie.

Bee (La Reina) you were the best. I've spent the last week thinking back on all the random things over the years and it made me laugh. I thought back to when we were little and you took us to Toys R Us at which point it turned into Lord of the Flies when Amy tried giving me a toy purse and I chased her around the store...or when we went food shopping with you and stashed extra groceries in the cart (like coconuts) that you didn't find until we were checking out. I thought back on you living with us in Scotch Plains...how I would hold your Cabbage Patch Kid for ransom or I would stage all my stuffed animals outside your room with a cup and a sign that said "We Need Money". I then thought about your personality. Your jokes were always corny but they always made us laugh. Your ability to sing "Attack of the Killer Tomatoes" as an opera singer should have landed you on The Voice. Your blintzes and kielbasa/kraut were amazing. Every family vacation, party, or major event...you were there.
These are only a few of the many fond memories I will keep in my heart until I'll see you again...at which point I will playfully grab your nose and wait for that familiar "mwohw" noise you'd make as a joke. You will be missed by all your family and friends. Your "Birthday Posse" will miss you dearly but we will look upward each and every March 20th and smile!
Thank you again for the beautiful card and housewarming gift...and all the amazing memories. Again, you were the best! I love you.
- The Monsieur

Betty, you were a true partner in crime. We had our “secret ceremonies.” We “danced for customers” while it was “snowing in Japan.” We mailed each other packets of salt which in this day and age would, no doubt, be confiscated and tested. We toasted marshmallows on your kitchen stove and my lip stuck to the fork. We went on so many rides at the amusement park that we developed motion sickness, threw up, and spent the rest of the day sleeping. We danced in your basement to old 78 rpm Polka records played on the victrola. We argued about who was the cutest Beatle (Paul).
I will always remember my walk down Rome Street en route to your home and you and Aunt Tessie meeting me at the railroad crossing.
I pray that we all meet again at the next crossing.
Love, your cousin, Gail

I miss Bee so much. She was my second mother and I will always be thankful that she was a part of my life. I tried to be the cool aunt to my nieces and nephew the way she was always the coolest aunt to me. Bee I know you're with Babci and Pop Pop and Uncle Joe now. All my wonderful family who I miss so much. I love you Bee!

My Aunt Bee was the funniest person I knew growing up!! I looked forward to seeing her when we went to Babci and Pop Pop's house in Newark (41 Hawkins Street) on the weekends when I was a little kid. The BEST was when I bugged my parents (with help from Bee) to sleep over and we'd give each other "hair-doos" and Bee and I would sleep on the fold-out couch in the living room watching All in the Family until the National Anthem played and the screen went to fuzz for the night. She used to take me to Sandy Hook and we'd stop and get ice cream every time and the first time I heard "Ramblin' Man" by the Allmans was on her 8-track tape player. I was cool before my time thanks to her. My dad called her "Crash" because apparently she had many fender benders. HA!! When I was a little older, she moved in with us in Scotch Plains and my friend Terry and I (who I'll bet met her with a big hug when she walked into Heaven) would snag her right when she came home from work to drive around town with her hatchback open blasting "Footloose" and "Let's Hear It for the Boy" (yeah, you could do stuff like that back in the 80s). And I mean BLASTING. She must've been seriously mortified but she would do it for us. Many many times. Every family party turned into a water fight because of her water balloons that inevitably led to the hose and buckets. Every card you got from her had a handwritten addition to it. Not just a note from her, but something added to the original joke of the card to begin with. Classic Bee. I loved looking at her stuff in her room and thinking I'd like to be just like her someday. She always had cool turquoise jewelry and she was always so neat and organized. She and my brother Mike had this unique camaraderie - she called him "The Monsieur" - and he would kidnap her Cabbage Patch Kid named Baldy Bob and ask for ransom money. My sister Katie and Nancy were always up in her room chatting away about boys and whatnot. She was that kind of person. An adult who was just kid-level crazy enough that us kids adored her. She incited our love for the Poconos, my interest in Astronomy and was the keeper of all our childhood memories and made up words (bups and plupses to name a few). She came on all our family vacations when we were kids and told me she was going to write a book called "Bowls Along the Atlantic" after my incessant rest stop demands on our road trip to Disney. I know I'll think of more memories of her and I will record them here. I want you all to know the Bee I knew, we knew, us kids. La Reina. The Queen Bee.
