Jack, what a lovely sentiment! I will miss you, Uncle Andy. I just had no idea of your bravery and fortitude and accomplishments! I very fondly remember our annual Labor Day picnics at your house on Stony Brook Road. I so looked forward to them :-) Playing lawn darts and running freely all over, in & out and all the family gathered for great times & great food. Aunt Mary with her big smile and her pretty hair pinned back with bobby pins. Thank you for all of my beautiful memories! God bless you in heaven.

I was Andy's Mailman when he lived at Fox Hills.
Most days he would wait for me and we would chat.
Mostly about Baseball. We were both Mets fans.
Some of his best quotes" They need to fire the manager","They're all swinging for the long ball, they don't know how to play small ball" "They need to swing the bat!"
When I found out he was on a B-17 crew in WWII,I contacted the squadron historian, and was furnished with details of Andy's 13 missions. I talked about each mission with Andy, and he had some vivid memories about them and the other crew members. He seemed touched that I did the research, and i'll never forget that.
My condolences to the family.

Dad loved fishing. As a kid he took me up to one of his favorite lakes after supper. He would let me row the boat from one end of the lake to the other. We stopped at almost every rock, tree stump and over hanging tree branches along the way seeking a bite. When it was time to go home he let me run the motor. Now it really got fun. Full throttle all the way back.

Andy I will always remember your visits to Lakeview School for our Veterans Day Celebration. Your talks to the children did more for them than you will ever know. "Stay in school and always do your best". King of Kings will always remember your smiling face and friendly welcomes.
