Visiting hours will be on Monday, December 30th from 3-7 pm at the Norman Dean Home For Services, Denville. Donations in his name may be made to the Denville VFW Post # 2519. Please share your memories here. Tony’s family will cherish them forever. Tony was born Felix Edward Ramirez in 1946 to the late Carlos & Michiela. After his schooling, he enlisted with the US Navy and proudly served our country during the Vietnam War. Upon his honorable discharge, he returned to the States and met Donna Dancico on a blind date. In 1974, they married and settled in Rockaway to start a family of their own. Tony worked hard in the auto business providing a good life for his girls. He was kind and loving, fun and always generous…even more so with his time. He had a way to make everyone feel special. Since his passing, many people have said on social media that Tony treated them like one of his own and their lives are the better for it. When he wasn’t at work or with his family, Tony devoted his time to the Denville VFW or the American Legion, including serving as Post Commander of VFW # 2519. He was a proud Veteran and American. He enjoyed participating in parades and local events throughout the years. He enjoyed the camaraderie and respected all of his fellow Vets. As Service Officer for the Legion, he helped many fellow veterans to ensure that they had all of the services that they needed. He was a people person for sure and always made everyone feel welcome. Most recently, Tony found a new love….two actually. He was blessed with identical twin granddaughters back in April and enjoyed spending time with “his Twinkies” and sharing stories about them. He is survived by his wife Donna (Dancico) of 45 years; his daughters Donna Ostermayer, her husband Jason, and Rebecca Woodruff and her husband Brandon; his grandsons Aidan and Nicholas; his granddaughters Hailey and Taylor; and many more beloved relatives, friends, Veterans and neighbors. Although we will all miss Tony’s bright spirit and ever-present smile, we rejoice in knowing that he is now watching over us with love from heaven.
