Obituary of Monique Jude-Harris
Please share a memory of Monique to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Monique Jude-Harris, of Rockaway Township, NJ, passed away on Sunday, December 22, 2019. She died peacefully, with her loving family by her side, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was 57 years young.
Monique was born on the island of St. Thomas, in the U.S. Virgin Islands, to Reynold Jude, Sr. and the late Norma Estrill-Moorehead. She lived her early childhood years in St. Thomas, before moving to New Jersey at age 13, where she completed her secondary school education. She later attended Seton Hall University where she earned her Bachelor of Science Degree. She had been a Rockaway Township resident since 2004.
Monique was a phenomenal mother, and dedicated her life to nurturing and raising her children. She was tireless in her efforts to ensure that they had the very best life possible. Always a hard worker, she had a very successful 35-year career at The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) in Little Falls, NJ. She was well respected, admired, and loved by the people she worked with, and made many lifelong friendships along the way. When not working, her three favorite things to do were shopping, traveling, and spending time with her family, especially her children. She enjoyed taking them on trips to exotic places like Antiqua, the Bahamas, and the Dominican Republic, to name a few; creating memories that they will cherish for their lifetime. She was very family oriented, and always maintained close contact with her father, siblings, other family members, and friends. Monique had a kind, loving, and compassionate heart, and supported numerous charitable organizations. A devout Catholic, Monique always kept her bible close, and remained strong in her faith to the end.
Monique was so proud of her children and adored her grandson; they truly were her world. She was the best daughter, mother, sister, and friend that anyone could ever ask for. She was genuine, passionate, caring, and committed, and it was evident that she put her heart into everything she did. She was always honest, and would tell you exactly how she felt about any given situation. We will always remember her smile, contagious laughter, honesty, respect, and unconditional love. Although she was taken away too soon, we take comfort in knowing that she is no longer suffering, and is now reunited in Heaven, with her mother Norma, and her brother Reynold.
She leaves only joyful memories with those that love her, including her loving father, Reynold Jude, Sr.; her faithful son, Je'Von Ikner, his wife Wendi, and her treasured grandson Maxwell Jude Ikner; her precious daughter, Brittney Harris and Brittney’s father, Bill Harris; her beloved siblings, Michel Collins, Patrick Jude, Dale Moorehead, Paqueta Moorehead, Sadeka Jude, Nigel Jude, and Derrick Williams; and many dear aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Public Visitation will take place on Friday, January 3rd from 4 – 8 pm at Norman Dean Home for Services, 16 Righter Avenue, Denville, NJ. Funeral Service will take place on Saturday, January 4th at 9 am at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Restland Memorial Park in East Hanover.
Please leave a condolence, light a candle, and share your favorite memory of Monique here for her family to see.
