Obituary of Marian B. Rorro

Please share a memory of Marian to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Marian B. Rorro passed on Saturday, November 30, 2019.  She shared 93 years of love and faith with everyone she met.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, December 5th at 10 am at St. Catherine of Siena Parish, 10 North Pocono Rd., Mountain Lakes. Interment to follow at Holy Name Cemetery, Jersey City.  Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday evening from 7-9 pm at the Norman Dean Home For Services, 16 Righter Ave. Denville, NJ.  Please share your memories here.  Her family will cherish them forever.

Marian was born at home in Jersey City in 1926.  She was the only child to bless the Pipi Family.  As a young girl in high school, she met Dominick Rorro at her Sweet 16th birthday party.  Soon after, he headed off to serve in the US Navy during WWII.  Marian waited for her sweetheart, and a few years later, they married and started a family of their own.  She was a lifelong parishioner of St. Aedan’s Parish in Jersey City.  She enjoyed being a homemaker and a devoted wife to her husband, as well as an adoring mother to her daughter, Lorraine.  Above all; her family was tops.  She adored Dominick for all of their 50+ years together.  She was very proud of her daughter and bragged of her grandchildren to whomever would listen.  After Dom’s passing in 2007, Marian moved to St. Francis in Denville to be closer to her daughter and two grandchildren, who were the center of her universe.  She made new friendships and enjoyed all of the activities offered.  Her granddaughter would religiously receive nightly updates on her Bingo winnings for the day.  Marian was known for her sweet, loving smile, happy and always optimistic demeanor, and kind and loving words for everyone she met.  It wouldn’t be a lie to say that she was truly one of the sweetest, pleasant souls one could come across.  Although we are saddened by her passing, we take comfort in knowing she is at peace in heaven and watching over her family with love and pride.

Predeceased by her husband Dominick; she leaves beautiful memories to her daughter Lorraine Rorro; grandchildren Michael and Courtney O’Dell; and many more dear relatives and friends.
