Obituary of Robert Harman
Robert Harman passed peacefully on Monday, October 7, 2019. He shared 77 years of love and faith with his family. Born in Berwick, PA, Bob was one of three children born to the late Harry and Grace Harman. After finishing school, Bob joined the Navy where he proudly served his country and was honorably discharged in 1963, followed by three years of service in the Naval Reserves. He then married and started his family by having four sons. In 1984, Bob met Millie Charmatz. They were married soon after and together had another son.
For more than 25 years, Bob worked as the Executive Director of Wolff and Samson PC (now Chiesa Shahinian & GiantomasiPC) in West Orange. He enjoyed his work and made lifelong friends there. He enjoyed many days in the bay and on the boat, but his happiest of times were always spent with his family. Bob was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather. He was incredibly proud of his family and nothing brought him greater joy than being with his kids and grandkids. His family takes comfort in knowing he is now at peace and will forever watch over them with love and pride.
He leaves a lifetime of beautiful memories to his wife Millie of34 years; his sons Paul (Tracy), Keith (Julie), Kevin (Denise), Jeffrey (Laurie) and Kenneth (Samantha); his adored grandchildren Heather, Alexandria, Cheyenne, Ryan and Jared; his stepmother Janet Harman; his siblings Linda McIntyre and Steve Harman; his loyal pups Ali & Louie; and many more dear friends, relatives, colleagues and neighbors.
Friends and relatives may visit on Thursday, October 10th from 4-8 pm at the Norman Dean Home For Services, 16 Righter Avenue in Denville. A prayer service will begin at 7:30 that evening. A service will take place at the Ocean County Memorial Park, 280 Wells Mills Road in Waretown on Friday at 11:30 in the morning. In lieu of flowers, donations in his name may be made to the good work of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, The Humane Society or to the National Kidney Foundation by way of www.inmemof.org. Please leave your memories here. Bob’s family will cherish them forever.
