Obituary of Richard A. Payne
Richard A. Payne, of Rockaway Borough, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 26, 2019 at Care One at Morris in Parsippany. He was 67 years young.
Born in Jersey City, he was raised in Cliffside Park to the late Kenneth and Josephine Payne. On November 23, 1985 he married the love of his life, Jane Pasquerella, at St. John’s Church in New York. Together they resided in Yonkers, NY and began their beautiful family. When their youngest daughter was three years old, they relocated to their forever home in Rockaway Borough. Richard was always a hard worker and amazing provider for his family. He made a successful 30+ year career for himself as a Carpenter and was a dedicated member of Carpenters Union Local #6 in Edison. An avid Yankees fan, Richard loved sports. When his adored daughters were growing up, he coached their basketball and softball leagues to show his support and love for them. Family was his first priority in life. The next time we hear Bruce Springsteen come on the radio, we will remember the good times we shared with Rich. He will forever be treasured in our hearts and memories.
Predeceased by his parents and brother, Kenneth, he is survived by his beloved wife of 33 years, Jane; his cherished daughters, Jessica and Danielle; his doting pug, Milo; and many more extended family and friends.
Public visitation will take place on Wednesday, October 2nd from 10 – 12 pm at Norman Dean Home for Services, 16 Righter Ave., Denville. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 1 pm at St. Cecilia’s Roman Catholic Church, 90 Church Street, Rockaway. Memorial Donations are being accepted in Richard’s name by way of www.inmemof.org/richard-a-payne. Please leave a condolence, light a candle, and share you favorite memory of Richard here for his family to treasure.
