A Time of Remembrance for family and friends to share memories

Obituary of Joseph Chismar

Please share a memory of Joseph to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Joseph Chismar passed suddenly on Wednesday, September 18, 2019. He shared 53 years of love and laughter with his family and friends. Memorial Visitation will take place on Sunday, September 29th from 2-6 pm with a time to share memories at 5 o’clock at the Norman Dean Home For Services, 16 Righter Ave, Denville. Flowers are always lovely, but for those who’d like to donate to Joe’s most important fund, kindly send checks c/o the funeral home for Kyra’s college education. A 529 was previously set up and all donations received will be put into that fund. Please email rebecca@normandean.com for further details. Please share your memories here, his family will cherish them forever.

Joe was born in June of 1966 and was the first child to bless the Chismar family. He grew up in Denville, attending Morris Knolls High. After graduation he worked as a mechanic and in landscaping and paving before starting his career in the car sales business. He enjoyed the work and was always very good at it. Most recently he managed Franklin Sussex Auto Mall in Sussex. In 1994, he married his longtime sweetheart Deanna D’Alessio. They lived in Jefferson shortly and then settled in Lafayette. In his free time, Joe loved to be on his bike, fishing, working out at Nautilus gym, or just being with his family. The sun rose and set on Deanna and their daughter Kyra. These two were his greatest joys and accomplishments in this world. Although we are broken hearted, we take comfort in knowing he will always be watching over his family with love and pride.

He leaves only beautiful memories to his wife Deanna D’Alessio of 25 years; his daughter Kyra Chismar; his siblings Holly Scholz (Ed) and Scott Chismar (Christina); nieces and nephews Heather, Eddie and Victoria Scholz and Alayna and Joseph Chismar; sister in laws Becky Bansch (Greg) and Amber Predmore, brother in law Michael Predmore; loyal canines Butkus, BooBoo, Marceline and Brown; and many more dear friends, relatives, acquaintances and customers. His parents Joseph and Victoria passed previously.
