I am very sorry to hear about the loss of this good man. Please accept my condolences.
For over 15 years I have helped organize, and run the dances in Princeton as a volunteer, board member and club president. Joe was a regular attendee of all our dances.
On Friday at the outdoor dance in Princeton, I learned about Joe's passing . I and others who organize and manage the dances - all knew Joe and were stunned and saddened by his passing.
Joe easily stood out as a tall, fit and stylish man, however his extraordinary quality was in how he comported himself. Above and beyond the norm, he was kind, gracious and thankful. Joe always made it a point to greet me, shake my hand, smile and say a kind word. We did not know each other well yet he always displayed the deepest kindness and gratefulness. He truly was inspired by love and a deep sense of humanity.
God bless Joe and his family.

So sorry to read about the passing of Joe.
I met Joe at the many Salsa dancing venues that he enjoyed. Both my wife and I really appreciated the sincere friendship we enjoyed.
One day, he noticed a tatoo I had on my arm, and asked me about it. I told him that I was a Paratrooper in the Army, and I mentioned the Unit I served with. He immediately knew of my Unit and was extremely interested in my experiences. I gave him a Video of the Unit's history, and he was like "a kid in a candy store". He obviously, had great historical interest and it was nice for me, a Vietnam Veteran, to be able to tell of my experiences to an interested party.
We will miss our friend, Joe.

I always believed a person's name translates to a sentence that captures the essence of their purpose...Guiseppe Benvenuti:
Guiseppe is Italian for the name Joseph which comes from the Hebrew name Yosef meaning "God will increase". Benvenuti is an Italian surname meaning "welcome". Together, his name states: "Welcomes the increase of God".
Joe's life exemplified this gift in just about everything he did, to everyone he met, by God's grace. After all, it was, and is his purpose.
They say St. Peter stands at the gate of Heaven welcoming believers to meet Jesus...I say it's Guiseppe!
I love you brother and like so many others, I will miss you terribly...until the the Day the saints come marching in!

I pray family, friends and all in the body of Christ are greatly consoled as Joe was truly a gift to all of us. A man of honor, true to his principles a gentleman and a joy to all of us. Joe would run the Long Branch boardwalk and talk to everyone. With his contagious smile he would break a conversation first introducing you to his kids “pride and Joy” then he would pull out his wallet and show you a pic to the detergents pride and joy. After a good laugh he would show you photos of his beautiful kids which as you could see on his face they were truly his pride and joy! He used this as an ice breaker to meet people, especially veterans and share the love of Jesus. Joe loved ballroom dancing. Being from Puerto Rico I love to dance salsa as well and had the privilege to share a salsa dance with him. It was fun and a rare gift to share a dance with someone who in purity just loved to dance like Fred Astaire with all joy and no malice. He worked at his technique and made sure to make the right turns and steps. I think to Joe dancing was a sport. As a brother in Christ from Calvary Chapel he served and followed Jesus wholeheartedly and his honesty, love, kindness and light touched all of us. Just by being who he was he was a testimony of Gods love. I can only pray that Joe is now dancing in all his might with King David in Gods prescience and receiving back the joy the gave to all of us.

Joe was my best friend.
When we texted or talked he pretty much always ended it with, “I love you buddy!”
He and I shared intimately about our lives. We did not hold back the details no matter how bad it was. We knew each other very well.
Joe did not judge me. He supported my life choices and never criticized. He is the reason I have a great job, as he took the time to send me a job posting link.
He took the time to listen. He took the time to share his victories, his vulnerabilities and his passions with me. He wanted to always be a better man and we helped each other through our belief in God and the power faith gave us.
Joe knew his limitations and was very complimentary of the things I was able to do wishing he could do them as well. He deserved all of the encouragement I could give him.
Joe showed up for things. His word, as a man, was good. He could be trusted.
I went to plays with him, watched numerous Super Bowls with him, sat in the sun and talked with him, shared so many jokes with him, had dinners with him, went through hard times and good times with him, shared our immense love of our children with him, shared my experiences with my four grandchildren with him, was excited that he too would have the honor of being a grandfather with him.
But the greatest gift of all...and Joe was a gift...was the love and friendship he gave freely to me.
Wherever Joe is, I hope he can hear me;
I love you buddy.

My heart is broken for the loss of this dear, dear man! Georganne and Joey, I know you adored your Dad and, oh, how he adored you both! Your Dad often spoke of how fantastic his children are. Yet, I know, words are of little comfort while in the throes of a fresh loss. Those who care can only hope that sharing their thoughts and surrounding you with love will somehow bring some kind of comfort and momentary relief from your pain. Giuseppe was a special soul and still is as he now walks with Jesus whom he loved with a very real and devoted passion. This sensitive man freely expressed his feelings and always showed that he cared. In every encounter with him, he would tell wonderful stories of his travels to historical places, his ballroom dancing, his life’s experiences, his family and, most wonderfully, his testimony of how he came to the Lord and accepted salvation through Jesus Christ. He was a well-rounded, intelligent man who had an incredible memory for details about historical America. He kept me spellbound with the information he would share. He was also a great listener who cared about the person he was with. He was so compassionate about the loss of my daughter years ago. He wasn’t self-centered. He cared about others. There is so much to say about Giuseppe.....his kindness, his sense of humor, his laugh, his thoughtfulness, his willingness to always help someone, his goodness, and his smile. Oh, that smile! I am praying for you both and for your aunts. Only God can bring us “the peace that surpasses all understanding” (Philippians 4:7) I know your Dad will live on in your hearts until you are reunited in God’s timing. I’m sending you my love beautiful Georganne and handsome Joey!
Rest well, dearest Giuseppe, my brother-in-Christ. I am honored, blessed, and enriched to have known you.

Dear family,
I just saw this tribute to Joe. I did not know he passed. I’m in shock to say the least. Please accept my sincere condolences at your loss. My husband Nick and I both loved Joe. Ever since we met him, he always made us laugh. Most recently, I stayed connected with Joe through Facebook, enjoying his photos of trips to historical sites, complete with pertinent information, which I thoroughly appreciated. But more than that, his “funnies” never failed to bring a smile and always a chuckle! I made sure he knew it too. Several years ago, I ran into Joe at Shop Rite in Neptune and we were talking about his love of dance and he showed me a few moves right there in the aisle! I’ll cherish that memory forever. I saw him dancing at a concert in Riverside Park in Red Bank one summer. He and his partner were fantastic! I wished I could do that too! And Joe always had fantastic jokes! I used to tell him he should do stand up comedy! I really meant it! Well, we know he’s up there with the saints now, making everyone laugh! Joe will be missed here on earth but will remain with you in your hearts. May happy memories of all the good times help ease the pain. God bless you all, and be comforted knowing he is with his Lord and Savior. With love, Diane Gradone

I was friends with Joe since we were about 12 y/o. I loved My Brother Joe more than anyone could imagine. Miles separated us and Joes two wonderful children took a lot of Joe's time, But we always tried to keep in touch... Last year I lost another dear friend, and Joes kind words (and my fiancés help) helped me through it. Right after that, "They" say my heart stopped for a VERY/VERY short amount of time. I don't know if I dreamed it or what, but What I experienced during that time, I can say "Joe is with Jesus, serving Him the why Joe always knew he should serve Him!" We don't get to heaven and just sit there. We honor Jesus with service & Praise, Just like here. ( That's what I experienced anyway...)
I can't imagine not being able to call Joe and saying, "Hey Joe, did you hear about these idiots doing this/this OR that?"
I didn't think I could feel worst than how I felt when I lost my friend last year. But I do...
However, I do know for a fact that Brother Joe is with Jesus.
