Obituary of Michael Danilack III

Please share a memory of Michael to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Michael Danilack III passed away on Monday, August 12, 2019. He shared 59 years of love and faith with his family and loved ones. Friends and relatives may visit on Friday, August 16th from 3-6 pm at the Norman Dean Home For Services, 16 Righter Avenue, Denville. A Funeral Service will take place that evening at 7 o’clock at the First Presbyterian Church of Boonton, 513 Birch St., Boonton NJ 07005.

Michael was born on July 31, 1960 and was one of two sons to bless the Danilack Family. After high school he attended the University of Pennsylvania and then earned his JD at NYU. He married and soon became the proud father to three boys—Hugh, Geoff, and Matt. He worked for many years at the IRS, first as chief counsel and later as deputy commissioner. He retired from PwC in 2018 after a fulfilling and successful career.

Michael most valued his roles as a Dad and a coach. He was certainly his three sons’ biggest supporter. Never missing a soccer game, baseball game, or an opportunity to shoot hoops with them, he was always present in their lives. He was a constant teacher and sounding board—always wanting his sons to succeed. He was patient yet firm, and always knew how to help those he interacted with reach their potential. He made many sacrifices through the years, always acting in the best interest of his family. He was brilliant and thoughtful. Everyone who knew him looked up to him. Although we are saddened by his passing, we take comfort in knowing he is proudly watching over his family and will continue to be a source of strength always.

He leaves a lifetime of loving memories to his sons Hugh, Geoff and Matt; his brother Mark and sister-in-law Susan; his niece Lindsey; his nephews Andrew and Paul; his Aunt Joanie Miller; his former spouse Cheryl Neville; his loyal dog Winter; and many more dear relatives, friends, and colleagues.
