Obituary of Edric Martinez

After a prolonged battle with mental illness, Edric Martinez passed away at his home in Rockaway Township, NJ on August 9, 2019, at the age of 25.

Born in Secaucus, he lived in North Bergen till the age of 4 and then spent most of his life in Rockaway Twp., NJ.

Edric was a talented artist, who loved to create, through writing, drawing, and music. He also loved nature and hiking, and exercising to keep his body fit.  All who knew Edric commented on the passion with which he did everything. Although this earth will be a little dimmer without Edric, the intensity of his spirit will serve as a bright beacon in the sky.

He is survived by his loving parents Edward and Moraima Martinez of Rockaway, NJ and by his sister Kiana Martinez, also of Rockaway, NJ.  His grandparents Eusebio and Victoria Martinez and Annie Littleman also survive him.

Visitation will be held on Thursday August 15, 2019, from 2:00PM – 4:00PM and 7:00PM - 9:00PM at Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Avenue Denville, NJ 07834 www.normandean.com.

A Liturgy of Christian Mass will be held on Friday August 16, at 10:00AM at St. Cecilia’s Church in Rockaway.
