Obituary of Regina Von Ameln
It is with heavy hearts that we mourn the loss of Regina von Ameln, who passed away on Monday, 8/5/19 at her home in Denville after a short stay at Saint Clare’s, were coincidentally she served as a Nurses Aid for 25 years while raising her two sons Edward and Robert.
Regina was the eldest daughter in a household of 5 girls. She was born in Ellerbruch Germany and experienced farm life in Marienburg during her formative years. The ravages of WWII displaced and divided the family, which by fate reunited many months later in Luneburg. Regina married at 21 years of age and was trained as a maternity nurse in Germany. The couple immigrated to Montreal in search of work and eventually gained sponsorship to come to the US in 1960. She became a US citizen and overcame many hurdles in her adopted country, setting an outstanding example for her sons to follow.
Regina will be remembered most for her steadfast work ethic, her genuine nature and her love of people. We will keep her in our hearts always, reflecting on her life and the many gifts she gave us.
A Memorial Service will take place at 3:30 in the afternoon on Saturday, August 10, 2019 at Holy Spirit Lutheran Church, 70 River Road, Montville, NJ.
