Miriam Eve Young, of Rockaway Township, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer on Thursday, July 25, 2019. She was 78 years young.

Born and raised in the West side of New York City to the late Alexander and Frances Marchewka, she was the oldest of 3 daughters. She graduated from St. Aloysius High School and worked as a Secretary for Bankers Trust in New York. In later years, she worked at Parsippany High School as the Cafeteria Aide for many years. She met the love of her life as a teenager, not knowing that on September 16th in 1961, this boy would become her husband. Miriam and Bill began their life together in Rutherford, starting their beautiful family of four. In 1974 they relocated to their forever home in Rockaway Township.

Miriam was an avid Yankees and Giants fan. She loved reading and going for long swims in their pool. She was a devout Catholic and member of St. Clement Pope & Martyr Roman Catholic Church in Rockaway. Above anything else, her family was her pride and joy. She adored spending quality time with her grandchildren and was an excellent host for all holidays and family gatherings. Miriam had the biggest heart of anyone that we knew; she truly saw only the best in people. To say that she will be missed is an understatement. She will be treasured in our hearts and memories for an eternity.

She leaves only joyful memories to her beloved husband of 57 years, Bill Young; her adored children, Kevin Young and his wife Jackie and Allison Cameron; her cherished grandchildren, Kyle, Connor, and Kelsey Young and Donald Cameron; her loving sisters, Carol Bartley and her husband George and Jane Olivo and her husband Bob; her caring nieces and nephew, Chris and his wife Elaine, Kara and her husband Joe, and Kirsten and her husband Steve; and many extended family and friends.
