Bill and I were roommates at The Hill School. He was the finest man I ever met. He was honest and true, intelligent, and gave it his all on any endeavor. He was the best “roomie” ever, and no-one was a better man.

My heart is greatly saddened by the loss of this man but grateful for the opportunity to have known him. And my take away from knowing him? He was a quietly extraordinary man. He had a knack for living genuinely and inspired us to attempt the same. He knew it was the intrinsic qualities that bring satisfaction. He was special because he had the gift of making others feel special. He asked questions and listened to the answers and left us feeling heard and valued.... He was a good and kind man... and he leaves behind so many of us that will miss his extraordinary, gentle, witty soul. God bless you, Bill

Bill’s optimism about life was a gift he shared with anyone who had the opportunity to spend time together with him. The kindness and respect he had for people in general allowed him to be both a citizen of the world and a first choice on everyone’s party list, put another way he was easy to be friends with. He left the world a better place than the one he was born into and those of us who knew him are better people because of our good fortune to have known him. Farewell my friend.

Joanne, Laura and I are so sorry, we were both such huge fans of Bill. I always looked so forward to talking with him as I felt like I came away so much smarter as a result. He was a wonderful man, someone whom I looked up to and tried to model after. It was especially fun talking politics with him!
