Obituary of Laura Glowinski

Please share a memory of Laura to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Laura Glowinski passed peacefully on Wednesday, June 12, 2019.  She shared 54 years of love and laughter with her family.  Friends and relatives may visit on Monday, June 17th from 3-6 pm at the Norman Dean Home For Services, Denville.  A short service will begin at 6 pm that evening. Donations in her name may be made to the good work of the 11th Hour Rescue by way of www.inmemof.org

Please share your memories here. Her family will cherish them forever.

Laura was born in Philadelphia in October of 1964.  After her schooling she started her family, welcoming one wild and crazy baby girl. A short while later was blessed to meet Ward Glowinski and his son.  The family grew, by one blonde-haired angel, and they settled in Rockaway.

She was a wonderful wife and the sun rose and set on the kids.  She was so proud of everything they’ve accomplished and was always their number one supporter. Once they left the house though, the sun found the dogs.  Laura was an animal lover.  She rescued many pups through the years and was quick to foster, donate or participate in events.

For many years, Laura was heavily involved with the Rockaway Rowdies Soccer Club. Her girls were lucky enough to have her coach them in countless memorable seasons. She loved cooking amazing meals for her family, day trips to the beach, and eating blue crabs on the Chesapeake. She was serious about lawn care and took much pride in her beautiful gardens. Laura was also a faithful Philadelphia sports fanatic. She enjoyed countless hours yelling at the TV and was beyond thrilled to see her beloved Eagles win the 2018 Superbowl.

Over the last four years, Laura was the pillar of strength. She faced each hurdle with grace and tenacity. Many who knew her and spent time with her during these hard times were constantly inspired by her positive attitude. Although we are saddened by her passing, we take comfort in knowing she is at peace and watching over her family with love.

She leaves beautiful memories to her husband Ward of 24 years; her children Kelly Higginbotham, Meghan Glowinski and Ward Glowinski Jr. (Kimberly); her adored grandson Dylan and baby Glowinski “on the way”; her pups Rooney and Blaze, Dallas, the feline; and of course her #1 forever- Lily.  She also leaves wonderful memories to her friends and family at Seven West Salon, her Rockaway Boro Ladies, Banana Fam and many others who have known and loved her.
