Obituary of Rosaline M. Davis

Please share a memory of Rosaline to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Rosaline M. Davis, of Boonton, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at Boonton Care Center. She was 96 years young.

Born in Prince Edward Island, Canada to the late John and Margaret Chaisson, she was one of six children. At one years old, she came to the United States with her family. At age 20, she became a U.S. citizen. She settled first in Massachusetts and at a dance hall she met the love of her life, Theodore E. Davis; they married in 1948. Together they spent a couple of years in Ohio before finding their forever home in New Jersey, where they started their family. They settled in Westwood and then relocated to Denville 30 years ago. While in Denville Rosaline was an active member of St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church. One of her greatest passions in life was dancing. She also enjoyed listening to music, reading, playing cards and puzzles, especially crosswords and jigsaws. Rosaline was an avid golf player. They wrote an article about her in the magazine GOLF recognizing her hole-in-one. Above anything else, Rosaline was an extraordinary wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. Her legacy of unconditional love will live on in the hearts of many for generations to come.

Predeceased by her beloved husband, Theodore E. Davis, Sr. and son, Theodore E. Davis, Jr., and her siblings, she leaves only joyful memories to her adored children, Ginny (the late Ray) Coppola and Mark Davis; her cherished grandchildren, Michelle (Robert) Wagner, Jennifer Coppola, Brandon Davis, Devon (Jonathan) Carroll, and Justin Teats; her treasured great-granddaughter, Deanne Wagner; and many more extended family and friends.
