Joe and I always hung together. We played basketball in Monsigior Kelly's Playground, on Williams St, Belleville, NJ.
We worked together in Homelight Chainsaw in North Arlington, NJ. We hung with all the guys at the Shortstop, on Washington Ave., in Belleville, NJ., in the early 1960's. Roe, sorry for your loss. God bless you and your daughter.
Love, Marty

I just received this from an old mutual friend of ours from Belleville, Terry Hegarty. I was saddened to hear of Joe's passing. We used to play basketball at the William St. playground by the Belleville FD house. We had many a good time hanging a Mike's on William and Washington. Like so many of us who left Belleville to other areas to raise our families, we never forgot our friendships. Rest in Peace my Friend....

Carl "Butch" Kirk,
Joe and I were born one year apart and lived next door to each other till our late 20's.
His Mother gave me my nickname, 'Butch' which my family and old friends still use, 75 years later. Our houses were attached so were our families. Jake (Jimmy). Joe older Brother, was my Brother best-man!
We stayed close friends/brother-like until work, the military, and marriage took over! We stayed in touch, but not close enough!
Marcy, my wife, myself, and entire family offer our very sincere condolences, to Roe, Paulette, Mitiz, and family.
'Butch!'

Joe was from Belleville, I was from Nutley. Every time we were in each other's company it felt like we knew each other all our lives. Even though we had a built in rivalry, we always had a good time together, probably because we both loved Roe, my blood cousin, his loving wife. I think she brought out the best in us. The PC screen is getting blurry, I better stop and just say, Rest In Peace Joe.

Mike and I were just talking about Joe a day or two ago. With the up coming Yankee season he was one of the first few to come to mind. Mike always enjoyed the time spent at American Legion Post 344, talking about the Yankees and the many trips to the Tropicana in AC. He had a bright smile and an infectious laugh. May he be welcomed by the angels in heaven.
Death leaves a heartache no one can heal; love leaves a memory no one can steal
Our prayers and thought are with you during this difficult time.

Every time I hear the song "Wild Thing", it makes me smile and think of when Joe and Roe met. We always had a great time when we got together. The one that stays with me is when John and I were at their house and the "boys" decided to discuss many issues while enjoying a bottle of Fortissimo. We had such laughs and they really thought they had solved the worlds problems before we left! I also have great memories of the weekend we spent down Wildwood. Joe was a fun guy, a loving husband and father and a great American.
