Obituary of Jean Morris

Jean Gloria Morris, 77, of Sparta, N.J., passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loved ones, on March 11th, 2019.

She was born and raised in Jersey City to the late James and Genevieve Fitzhenry. She later moved to Sparta, NJ, where she spent most of her life raising her family and working as a waitress for over 20 years.

Jean was always smiling, and is known by all for her kind and loving spirit. She lived her life selflessly, placing the wants and needs of others ahead of her own. She was a devoted mother, sister, aunt, and grandmother and will be missed and remembered by many. In her free time, Jean loved to travel with her family members and grandchildren, especially to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The ocean was her happy place.

Jean is predeceased by her son Ron, and survived by her two adoring sons and daughters-in-law, Jim, Marie, Brian, and Danielle Morris. She leaves behind her four cherished grandchildren, Kevin, Katie, John, and Sean Morris, her caring siblings, Joan and Rene Kegelman, and Jim and Maureen Fitzhenry. She will also be dearly missed by her nieces and nephew, Jeanne, Debbie, Danielle, and David.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, March 15^th at 10 am at St. Kateri Tekakwitha, 427 Stanhope Sparta Rd, Sparta Township, NJ 07871. Interment will follow at Sparta Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Sparta. Relatives and friends are welcome to visit with the family on Thursday, March 14^th from 4 – 8 pm at Norman Dean Home for Services, 16 Righter Ave., Denville, NJ 07834. Memorial Donations are being accepted by way of www.inmemof.org to the American Cancer Society. Please leave a condolence, light a candle, and share a special memory for her family.
