Celestina Calabria

Obituary of Celestina F. Calabria

Please share a memory of Celestina to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Celestina F. Calabria, of Southampton, went home to be with our Lord peacefully on Sunday, February 17, 2019 at Compassionate Care Hospice in Dover. She was almost one month shy of turning 102 years old.   She left her family and friends many memories and Christ like lessons that will remain for generations.

Born in Winnipeg, Canada to the late Ralph and Clara D’Agostino, Celestina was raised in the prairie with Native American Indians. She made a very successful career for herself as a Practical Nurse at Orange Memorial Hospital in Orange for 15 years.  She met and married the love of her life, Louis Calabria and together they had four beautiful children. Celestina and Louis moved down to their home in Southampton, NJ in 1975.  Celestina was a very strong and independent woman who continued to live in their home up until a month ago.  She loved her garden where she could eat her home-grown vegetables.  She continued to keep up with her garden until last year.

She was pre-deceased by her loving husband, Louis Calabria who passed away on September 1990, beloved Son Louis Calabria who passed on August 2014, and beloved daughter Clara Montroy who passed on February 2015.  Celestina was truly a Godly woman, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother and friend. She will be sorely missed and forever cherished in our hearts.

Left to continue her legacy of unconditional love and hard work are her beloved children, Joy (the late Giovanni) Grob and Ralph (Diane) Calabria; her cherished grandchildren, Buddy Mazzio, Debbie (John) Diaz, Wendy (Doug) Bopp, Stacie (Matt) Corrao, John-Marc (Mary) Grob, Rama, Chanti and Ethan Calabria;  She also had Great Grandchildren, Chance Mazzio, Kurt, Danny and Joanna Bopp, John Luke and Christina Grob, James Masker, Anthony Calabria; She also had Great Great, Grandchildren Colton and McKinley Masker and Nora Bopp; and many loving extended family members.

A Service will be held at the Chapel on Monday, February 25th at 11:00 am at Restland Memorial Park, 77 Deforest Ave., East Hanover, NJ 07936. Memorial Donations are being accepted to The Voice of the Martyrs, www.persecution.com or American Bible Society, www.americanbible.org. Please leave a condolence, light a candle, and share a special memory for her family.
