Obituary of Ann E. Kunzweiler

Please share a memory of Ann to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Ann E. Kunzweiler (McLevedge) passed away on February 2, 2019, at the age of 83. Born in Queens, NY, she had lived in Hasbrouck Heights for most of her life before moving to Rockaway Twp., NJ 16 years ago. Ann worked at Penton Publishing Company in Hasbrouck Heights NJ for 20 years before retiring in 2001. Ann's first and primary love was her Catholic faith, which was the guiding light of her life. She took wonderful care of her husband John for many years. She also loved to read and do crossword puzzles, going down the shore and to the beach, watching the NY Mets (she knew all of the statistics and batting averages of each player!) and doting over her 15 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson. She was a member of St. Bernards Church in Rockaway Township, NJ. It is with the heaviest of hearts that we say must good bye to our Mom, Wife, Aunt, Sister, and Dear Friend. Ann took her last breath on God's great Earth on February 2nd at 4:25am. Only moments after the Glorious Mysteries of the Rosary were prayed at her side by her daughters Jo-Ann, Lisa and her friend Maryann. After each mystery, they asked Our Blessed Mother to please take her home. Shortly after they completed the rosary, Ann took her last breath and a peace came over her face and entire body. We believe that Mary herself took Mom by the hand and ushered her through the Gates of Heaven! She is now reunited with her own mother, Clara, whom she lost when she was 9 years old, Grandpa Steve, Grandma Ruth, Father Bob, Aunt Marlene, Uncle Danny, Uncle Paulie, Uncle John and many friends. Mom was a role model of strong Catholic faith, a committed, loyal wife of 63 years and caretaker of her husband John, a doting spoiling grandma, and just a wonderful ever- present Mother to all of us! She never forgot a birthday or an anniversary! Mom, our hearts are breaking and aching.... we miss you so! Yet, we know that you are at peace and out of pain now and reunited with your mother. And now... enjoying the greatest gift our God has given to us - eternal life with His son, our Lord Jesus Christ. Thank you and love you MOM! Ann is survived by her beloved husband of 63 years, John Peter Kunzweiler of Rockaway Twp., NJ. She is also survived by her loving children Jo-Ann and her husband Casey Simon of Mahwah, NJ, Stephen and his wife Jane of Warwick, NY, Lisa and her husband Brian Hart of Chatham, NJ, Laura and her husband Bob Howe of Colts Neck, NJ, and Patrice and her husband Carl Flatau of Ft. Mill, SC. She is also survived by her grandchildren Mathew, Mitchell, Jessica, Juliann, Robert, Kelsey, Joanna, Jake, Emily, John, Leigh Ann, Ryan, Stephen, Clara and Anna as well as her great grandson Noah. Also survived by her siblings Joan Brown of Rockville Center, NY, Clair and her husband Joey Mazalewski of Columbia, MD, Ruth and her husband Ronnie Kiesche of Wharton, NJ and Stephanie and her husband Richard Lonsdale of Hasbrouck Heights, NJ. Visitation will be held on Wednesday February 6, 2019, from 2:00 - 4:00PM and From 7:00 – 9:00PM at Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave Denville, NJ 07834 www.normandean.com. Funeral services will begin on Thursday at 9:00AM at the funeral home and then going to St. Cecilia's Church in Rockaway for a 10:00AM Liturgy of Christian Burial Mass. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover, NJ.
