Obituary of Keith A. Clifford

Please share a memory of Keith to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Keith Clifford passed peacefully at his home on January 27th after a brave bout with ALS.  He shared 69 years of love and friendship with his family and community.  A Funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 31st at 10 am at the Norman Dean Home For Services, 16 Righter Avenue, Denville.  Interment to follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Chester.  Visiting hours will be on Wednesday, January 30th from 5-8 pm.  Donations in his name may be made to the good work of the ALS Association or St. Jude’s Hospital by way of www.inmemof.org.  Please share your memories here.  His family will cherish them forever.

Keith was born in Morristown to the late Terence and Lee.  After graduating from Morris Knolls, he attended Montclair State and William Paterson.  He settled in Denville where he was blessed with two daughters.  In 1980 he joined the Denville Police Department where he proudly served this community. Keith loved being a cop.  He taught DARE to over 1200 students and was proud of this important work.  In 1998, he married Susan Tierney and was smitten.  Keith was blessed again, as Susan had two little ones.  The family blended and Keith and Susan worked hard to give the kids a comfortable home and life.

Keith donated much of his time to the Boy Scouts and was fortunate to spend time at the Philmont Scout Ranch and attend the National Jamboree one year.   He was kind and good hearted and always saw the best in others.  Although we are saddened by his passing, we take comfort in knowing he is at peace and watching over his family with love and pride.

He leaves beautiful memories to his wife Susan of over 20 years; his children Anne and Bethany Clifford and Ryan Tierney ( Jodie Kunkel) and Kaitlyn Tierney (Jamie Berlin); his siblings Diane Clifford (Jeff Howard) and Brian Clifford (Debora); his nieces and nephews Terry and Robyn Clifford Howard and Allie and Jenny Nostrand; his sister in law Joy Nostrand; and many more dear relatives, friends, colleagues and neighbors.
