Obituary of Paul Joseph Leuthard

Please share a memory of Paul to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Paul J. Leuthard.  Please keep Paul and his family in your prayers. He passed away in his home in Fort Collins, Colorado after a long struggle with illness.  Through his struggles, his family has learned how inadequate the care is for those who suffer long term illnesses. Paul gave his whole heart to his passions which included music, writing, and the visual arts.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, January 3, 2019 at 10 am at Sacred Heart Parish, 63 E. Main St., Rockaway.  Interment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover. Friends and relatives may visit on Wednesday, January 2nd from 2-4 & 6-8 pm at the Norman Dean Home For Services, 16 Righter Ave., Denville.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Paul’s memory to NAMI, New Jersey, an organization that educates families of the mentally ill, by way of www.inmemof.org.

Please share your memories here. We, his family will cherish them forever.

Paul was born in 1977 and was the fourth child to bless Paul and Patricia Leuthard.  He was raised in Rockaway Township, graduating from Knolls in 1995.  He headed west for college, attending CSU and finishing at Univ. of Northern Colorado.  He loved the state of Colorado and strove to make a life surrounded by the breathtaking views of majestic mountains and open heavenly skies. He was an avid hiker, cyclist and guitarist and he created beautiful music that communicates his endearing spirituality and love of humanity.  He was a beautiful son, beloved brother, inspiring uncle and a compassionate generous friend. Although we are deeply saddened by his passing, we take comfort knowing he is at peace and watching over his family.

Predeceased by his Father Paul; he leaves his Mother Patricia Leuthard; sisters Renee Leuthard, Erika Hitchcock (William) and Tricia Acksen (Matthew); six nieces and nephews; and many more loving family members.
