Obituary of June F. Dixon

Please share a memory of June to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of June F. Dixon.  She shared 95 years of love and delicious cookies with everyone she knew.  On Sunday, December 30th, there will be a time to gather with June's family from 3:30-5:30 at the funeral home.  Please light a candle or share your memories here.  Her family will cherish them forever.  Donations in her name may be made to the good work of the American Cancer Society.

June was born in April of 1923 to the late Frank and Florence Kiefer.  She was one of six children to bless the family.  A product of the greatest generation and having lived through the great depression, June certainly knew the value of a dollar and of hard work.  In 1949 she married her sweetheart James R. Dixon Jr. and the couple worked hard to give their children a beautiful life.  She was an excellent homemaker, always putting the needs of her children first and instilling in them the values of education and hard work.

June always kept up on current events, reading the newspaper daily, and following politics, possibly too much.  On the lighter side, she enjoyed fishing through her most of her life.  She would head to Ocean Beach NJ where she loved to surf fish.  She also enjoyed time spent in Duck, NC.  Above everything; she loved being with her family.  She was the proud Grandma to six and in the last decade of her life, was crowned Great Grandma to many little ones.  Although we are saddened by her passing; we take comfort in nowing she is watching over her family with love and pride this Christmas season.

She leaves joyful memories to her dear husband James of almost 70 years; her children Lorrie Vece (Joseph) and Brian Dixon (April ); grandchildren Christine Zoino, Kevin Vece, James, Timothy, Jason and Samuel Dixon; six great grandchildren and many more dear relatives and friends.  Her five siblings passed previously.
