I am very sorry for your loss McDonald family. May the love and support from our Creator and from eachother sustain you during this especially difficult time. One thing that helps me during times of grief is knowing that death can only separate loved ones temporarily. God makes this assurance to you as well because there will be a resurrection (Acts 24:15). He perfectly remembers everything you love and miss about your loved one. In due time, your tears of joy will replace the tears of sorrow you shed over Anne because she can be with you on a paradise earth (Psalm 37:11). Please take good care of yourselves and eachother.

Mom I really don’t know where to start, I’ve lost my mom my best friend my world. I want you to know I couldn’t of ask for a more loving caring mom than you, thank you for telling me every day how proud you were of me but to me I just wanted to be like you! These pass couple of days I have been remembering things through my childhood and looking at old pictures, man I had a great life, I remember going in your Volkswagen car to the laundry mat and after that going to the grocery store and you letting us get our frozen dinners, man I thought that was the coolest thing, after that we would get back in the car and sing our favorite songs, Marlene’s was “There’s a church in the valley” and mine was “How much was that doggie in the window “. I remember we didn’t have much money but on Halloween you always made sure we were dressed up, you worked so hard mom, you are the reason I am who I am now, I wanted to be just like you, thank you mommy I will miss you every minute of the day I love you now and forever!! Your loving daughter Linda

Technically Anne was my step-mother. In reality she was just as much a mother to me as my own mother. She never missed a birthday or holiday. She would send card and gifts “just because”. I live in Anchorage, Alaska — couldn’t get much further way physically. The miles only mattered when it came to wanting to visit because we kept in touch by phone.
Anne had a crazy sense of humor. No matter the circumstance she could make you laugh. Years ago I would stay on the phone with her while she did her “chicken rotation” when dealing with a previous cancer. She’d laugh and call herself a rotisserie chicken. Her strength and determination never waivered while fighting for her health.
Anne and I spent hours on the phone before I went back to work full time. She gave advice on raising my kids and was a fantastic grandmother. There was no such thing as a grandchild by marriage. My kids were her grandchildren. They knew it and loved her dearly.
If you knew Anne you already know she will never be truly gone from our lives. She gave so much and had such an impact that she will remain with her family through our daily lives in ways she could never have imagined.
While I won’t be at Anne’s service she knows she’s in my heart and I grieve with the rest of her family. We will see her again.
I expect to see Anne and her bright red hair waiting for me when I get to the gates of heaven.
I love you Anne.
Rhonda

Anne was an amazing and spunky woman! She gave so much to the Picatinny community. I’ll never forget her teaching me Bunco and the many hours of Volunteering together. My condolences to her family. Anne was a true gem!

Anne was such a great role model to all of the spouses at Picatinny by showing us how to see the cup as half full and by always having a smile on her face. She was a riot at bunco, though, and contributed so much to the fun we had there. You will be missed, Anne, may you rest in peace.

I sent Anne a Get Well card 2 months ago, when she got sick and could no longer play Bunco with us. The time from that card to now was so quick that I was shocked to hear the news. As she would always say, "I am a tough old broad and my brassy red hair I colored to match that." I never thought she would leave us so quickly, because of her strong will. I will miss her bunco card where she never wrote her name she always put "Me" and she always made us laugh and have a good time........Love you Anne! I will miss you! Love, Beth

Anne was one of the most wonderful women I have ever met. As the only Man who frequented the PICA Coffe Club events, she was one who always made me feel welcomed. She has been missed since our family moved on from PICA as she always found time to talk with me. May God Bless her and her Family.

Class, Grace, Kindness, Respectful, Charitable heart, Loving, Funny are just some character traits Ann possessed. She loved her family and her Jerry. I met her two years ago when I arrived at Picatinny Arsenal and she embraced me with open arms... always reminding me that I could be her daughter :) I left her a voice message somewhere around December 13th because she was not at the Spouse Group December coffee, she hardly missed a coffee.
I was concerned and left a voice message that we/ I missed her. She always would call back that day or the next. I never heard back... but I'm happy that she knew she was thought of and missed. That gives me great comfort.
Rest in Peace my fellow Military Spouse and May God keep you and give your family strength!
Sincerly,
Pam Abramson

Anne is a great loss for both of us. She used to tell us that she loved us as daughter and son and that meant the world to us because we felt that way. Beyond a friend, Anne was my companion to events and was always there to listen and offer her wisdom. I cannot begin to describe our void for not being able to share with her. We miss her and forever will remember her for the many things she represent to us. May God have her by her side.

I am so very sorry to learn of Anne's passing. She was such a trooper as she faced her cancer for so many years in a very positive way. She was very brave as she went through her treatments and pain. I will always remember her happy-go-lucky attitude and her fun-loving ways. She always had something funny to say to make me laugh. She will definitely be missed by all of us here at Denville Community Church. Rest in peace, Anne. You are now in the hands of our Lord.

Anne was a bright light in my life. I'm one of the Red Hatters in her group and it was my pleasure to laugh with her, spend time with her, wear our red hats together. I'll miss her dearly. What a lovely person! How fortunate we all have been to know Anne McDonald!
