Obituary of Donald Lyndon Guerin
Donald Lyndon Guerin, of Denville, passed away peacefully in the comfort of his home on Sunday, December 16, 2018. He was 89 years old.
Born and raised Newark, NJ, he was the only child of Donald L. Guerin, Sr. and Angelina Gambatese. He attended Barringer High School in Newark before graduating early to join the United States Army, where he proudly served our country for two years. Upon discharge, he was graduated from Rutgers University in Newark with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business. He retired from Witco Chemical Corporation in New York after 38 years of service. Donald had many passions including photography, movies, traveling, and woodworking tools. He had a special interest for fine wood working, making sure that each of his children had a legacy piece. He was an amazing husband, father, and grandfather that will always hold a special place in our hearts.
Predeceased by his beloved wife, Joyce Guerin, in 1994 he leaves only joyful memories to his adored children, Roderick Guerin, Suzanne Guerin, and Jocelyn Cornine, his cherished grandchildren, James Guerin and Cassie Guerin, and his loving companion of 15 years, Barbara “Bobbi” Brown.
Public visitation will be held on Thursday, December 20th from 4 – 8 pm at Norman Dean Home for Services, 16 Righter Ave., Denville. Funeral Service will take place on Friday, December 21st at 10 am at Parsippany Presbyterian Church, 1675 US-46, Parsippany, NJ 07054. Burial will be private. Memorial donations can be made in Donald’s memory to Peter’s Valley School of Craft, 19 Kuhn Road, Layton, NJ 07851 or www.petersvalley.org.
