Graveside Service
Obituary of Sandra Hill
Sandra Hill passed peacefully on Wednesday November 14th at the Boonton Care Center. She shared 87 years of love and faith with her family. A Graveside service will be held on Friday, November 23rd at 12 o’ clock in the afternoon at the Rockaway Presbyterian Cemetery. Donations in her name may be made to the good work St. Hubert’s Animal Welfare Center, Noah’s Ark Campus, 1915 US-46, Ledgewood, NJ 07852.
Sandy was born in East Orange to the late John and Helen White. During her high school years she met William Hill in algebra class. The couple married in 1951 and eventually settled in the White Meadow Lake section of Rockaway Township. They raised their children in that house and she resided there for over 55 years. She was an excellent Wife and Mother, always putting her family first. She was a lover of animals and her home was always full of them. She worked for many years as a bookkeeper with Community Animal Hospital and Wayne Animal Hospital. She truly enjoyed her job. She was a longtime member of the Rockaway Presbyterian Church, and donated much of her time there. Above all, Sandy’s grandsons were her greatest joys. She had four of them and was over the moon when her two great granddaughters were born these last few years! Although we are saddened, we take comfort in knowing she is at peace and watching over her family with love.
Predeceased by her husband William R. Hill Jr. (2004) and her two siblings; she leaves happy memories to her daughter Karen Van Orden (Lee); her son William Hill (Fany Huidobro); grandsons Jesse (Megan), Michael (Morgan), and Kevin Van Orden and Jared Hill; her great granddaughters Olivia and Marley and many more dear friends.
