Obituary of Dorothy M. Wiedman

Dorothy Mae Wiedman, 85, passed away at Palm Garden Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Port Saint Lucie, FL peacefully with her loving family by her side on October 24, 2018. Dorothy was born May 20th, 1933 to Charles and Margaret Longfield in Orange, NJ. Dorothy was predeceased by her parents and her ex-husband Richard Alan Wiedman, her sister-in-law Maureen Longfield, her son-in-law Edward Cook, and just recently lost her daughter, Donna Cook in September 2018. Dorothy was a 1951 graduate of Boonton High School in NJ. Shortly after graduation, Dorothy married Al and raised five children. Dorothy was a stay at home mom and then began her 32-year career at Dickerson's Foodtown in Mount Tabor, NJ. Dorothy retired from Foodtown to care for her mother, Peggy. Upon her mother's passing, Dorothy relocated to Port Saint Lucie, FL. Left to cherish her memories are her brother Richard Longfield of Denville, NJ, her daughter Cindy Ackerman and husband Bob of Port Saint Lucie, FL, her son Wayne Wiedman, of Denville, NJ, her son Ricky Wiedman of Denville, NJ and her son Denny Wiedman and his wife Deidre of Denville, NJ. Dorothy delighted in her grandchildren, Kelly Frodsham (Dave Frodsham), Jennifer Ackerman (Julian Rodriguez), Kara Cook, Sean Cook (Jessica Murphy), Justin Wiedman, Nicole Wiedman, Melissa Wiedman and Timothy Wiedman. Dorothy was also blessed with four great grandchildren, whom she adored, Cassandra and Everett Frodsham, Olivia Cook and Dominic Rodriguez. Dorothy is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews, as well as countless friends. Dorothy had a loving, compassionate personality and was always smiling or laughing. She enjoyed gardening, her home on the lake, and all the wildlife that frequented her backyard. Dorothy always had welcoming arms for anyone that visited and was an unwavering supporter of her family and friends. Family brought Dorothy the most joy. She treasured spending time with her grandchildren, great grandchildren and good friends. A Celebration of Life for Dorothy will be held on Saturday December 8, 2018, from 3-5PM, with a memorial service to begin at 4:30PM at Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave Denville, NJ 07834. Memorial donations can be made in her memory to the American Heart Association by way of www.inmemor.org.
