Obituary of Constance Dodd
CONSTANCE DODD, Morris Plains
Constance Dodd (nee Bush) aged 93, passed away peacefully at the Care One Assisted Living facility in Parsippany, NJ on Wednesday, October 3.
She was born in Kokomo, Indiana September 3, 1925, and attended Western College for Women in Oxford Ohio for her Bachelor of Arts degree. Married to Donald Naismith Dodd in 1947, she lived all over the United States during her husband Donald’s military career before settling down to raise a family in Kansas City, Kansas. She relocated to Parsippany New Jersey in 1962 and raised her two children and English Springer Spaniels. She was a great lover of animals, particularly dogs, for her entire life.
Constance “Connie” Dodd started as an enthusiastic volunteer in St. Clair’s hospital in Denville NJ and eventually became a secretary in that department until her retirement.
Constance is predeceased by her husband Donald Naismith Dodd and her sister Patricia Clair Bush. Survivors include her sister Beverly Bush, son James Patrick Dodd and his wife Colleen Dodd (nee Mueller); her daughter Lois Mazzarisi (nee Dodd) and her husband Donald Mazzarisi; and her beloved grandchildren; Chelsea Dodd, Jayme Dodd, Bryan Mazzarisi and his wife Lisa (nee Bernstein), and Cara Mazzarisi.
Relatives and friends are asked to attend a celebration of Connie’s life Saturday October 13th at the Norman Dean Home for Services from 1-4 PM.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Constance’s memory to: St. Hubert’s Animal Welfare Center, 575 Woodland Avenue, Madison NJ 07940.
