Obituary of John Michael O'Herron
Please share a memory of John to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
John Michael "Jack" O'Herron passed away at Morristown Medical Center in Morristown, NJ on September 12, 2018, at the age of 80 years old.
Born and raised in Elmyra, NY, John was a graduate of Elmyra College where he earned his Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice. He proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1957 to 1960; he then went to work for the State of New York as a Parole Officer until he retired in 1995. In 1996 he moved permanently to Melbourne, Florida.
John was an avid coin collector and stock enthusiast. When he wasn't trading stocks as a hobby he could be found in his favorite place, the front porch sitting with his family sipping on a Manhattan.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Cecilia M. (Bessone) O'Herron of Melbourne, FL. He is also survived by his loving children James O'Herron of Elmyra, NY and Christina and her husband Thomas Pirolo of Mt. Lakes, NJ. His grandchildren William, Mia, Jack and Owen Pirolo, and Katy Van Derwerk also survive him.
A memorial Mass will be held on Saturday September 15, 2018, at 10:00AM at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 10 North Pocono Road Mt. Lakes, NJ 07046.
