Obituary of Teresa Savio

Teresa Regina Savio (née Readling) passed away surrounded by her family in Morristown, NJ, after a long, courageous battle with metastatic breast cancer on August 6, 2018, at the young age of 48.

Born and raised in Oswego, NY, Teresa lived in Lake Hopatcong, NJ for the last 16 years.

Teresa earned her bachelor’s degree from Union College in New York and her M.B.A. from SUNY Oswego.

Teresa worked as Program Director for nonprofit organizations and most recently as Case Manager for the County of Morris.

She could be described as a cultured person due to her love of art, music, food, concerts, and Broadway shows.  In college Teresa was a radio D.J., and in adulthood she enjoyed family activities such as hiking and exploring New York City.  Above all else nothing came close to her love of being a Mother to her children.

Teresa is survived by her beloved husband of 16 years, Sean Savio of Lake Hopatcong, and her loving son Edward O’Brien of Woodridge, IL, her cherished twin daughters Gianna and Gabriella “Ella” Savio of Lake Hopatcong.  She is also survived by her mother Maryann Readling of Binghamton, NY; her loving siblings John and his wife Lorraine Readling of Buffalo, NY; Joseph and his wife Yvonne Lucia of Binghamton, NY; Maris and her husband Trayton Davis of Montclair, NJ; and Thomas Readling of Edmeston, NY; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at Norman Dean Home for Services; 16 Righter Avenue; Denville, NJ 07834; www.normandean.com, on Sunday, August 12, 2018, from 2-6PM.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, August 13, 2018, at 10:00AM at Notre Dame of Mount Carmel Church; 75 Ridgedale Avenue; Cedar Knolls, NJ 07927.

Memorial donations can be made in her memory to either Metavivor or to Preschool Advantage by way of www.inmemoryof-memorial.org.
