Cheryl Rutherford Marier, 69 years young

"You can always tell where a beautiful soul has been by the tears and the smiles left behind."

Cheryl R. Marier passed away at home on Wednesday, August 1st.  Just hours shy of her 70th birthday,  her loving daughters were by her side then and throughout her courageous past three months.  A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 7th at 10 am at St. Catherine of Siena Parish, 10 N. Pocono Road, Mountain Lakes.  Friends and relatives may visit on Monday evening from 6-8 pm at the Norman Dean Home For Services, 16 Righter Ave., Denville. Private burial will take place in Vestal, NY.  Donations in her name may be made to the good work of the Market Street Mission or to the Montville Animal Shelter by way of www.inmemoryof-memorial.org

Cheryl was born in Johnson City, NY to the late George and June Rutherford.  As the only daughter, she was loved and spoiled by her three brothers.  After her schooling she met Raymond Marier and work brought them to NJ.  She was blessed to have three daughters of her own and truly was an amazing Mom, Wife and homemaker.  Her cooking and entertaining skills were top notch.  She loved having her home filled with family and friends.   Outdoors, she was a talented gardener, her yard abundant with beautiful flowers.  Above everything though, her grandchildren were her universe.  The sun rose and set on the kids.  She bragged of them to anyone who would listen and relished in their visits.  She was affectionately called Grandma Maximo and Little Grandma.  Although we are saddened by her passing, we take comfort in knowing she is at peace and is watching over this family with love and pride.

Predeceased by her husband Raymond, she leaves a lifetime of memories to her daughters Megan Kipness (Aaron), Leslie Marier-Mazza (Salvatore) and Elizabeth Malone (Daniel); her adored grandchildren Michael Raymond Mazza, Emily June Malone, Daniel Harmon Malone and Ryan Matthew Malone; her dear brothers Richard Rutherford (Mary), George Rutherford and Jeffrey Rutherford (Sonia); and many dear nieces, nephews, friends and relatives.
