I had the privilege of being taught by Joanne and am grateful and often reflective and mindful of what she taught our class.
A fine lady - smart, fun, kind, with the best intents always and all ways.

Joannes influence on my life is something that I feel daily and has impacted everyone around me as well. After training with her at NYU my perspective changed and I learned to view the world differently and relate to people in a new way. She taught me to put judgment aside and be curious. It isn't about the answers rather it is about the questions. Thank you so much I am eternally grateful. You will be missed.

I do not know Joanne’s family well but did want to share a tribute to a woman who had such a big influence on my life.
Joanne Killmeyer was not only my friend but was my NYU instructor which is how we got to know each other. Through her I learned not just how to coach but why... to help others help themselves.
And that is what Joanne did over and over again. She never solved your problem she asked the tough questions and then gave you the tools to solve your problems so the change was long-lasting. She never, ever made it about her and was a loving and giving and nurturing and gifted coach who held you accountable. She was also a stickler for the fundamentals and made sure you left any class or encounter understanding key concepts to truly help others transform.
Joanne not only impacted me in the classroom but she invited me into her home and life and her gifts of wisdom and books are things I treasure.
I am so sorry to hear of her passing and wish we had had a chance to connect again. In my head I am saddened that I did not know, didn’t follow-up and missed an opportunity to say good bye... in my heart I know you know how much you meant to me and feel so blessed for the times and moments where our world connected.
Joanne you truly made a difference on this planet... I am grateful to have known and learned from you and think of you ever time I see my books and think I can’t just go surface I must support what I am doing and saying with rationale and research. That just made me smile because that was so you! Xo Victoria

I just became aware of my very long time friend, Joanne. She was a most valued customer for many years and later we shared HR consultant at another firm.
I adored Joanne. She loved organizational behavior and other HR functions. Highly skilled and integrity was the name of the game.
May God receive her soul and until we meet again, my friend. enjoy His presence for all eternity.

My condolences to Joanne's family and close colleagues. We recently worked together at the New School, following her diagnosis, when she could no longer travel to class but wanted to remain involved -- which she did by video while I joined students in the classroom. Joanne was generous with her knowledge and deeply committed to her students' growth, even in this last chapter of her career. I am grateful for the opportunity our partnership provided. We miss her, and wish you all much comfort.

I so enjoyed talking with Joanne because we shared a love of training and counseling, and she was so interesting and knowledgeable about her field. We met for a couple of times over the past few years and I will miss her! In the past, our daughters were in Girl Scouts together and we'd share fond memories of those times!

I am so very sorry to hear of Joanne's passing. Joanne was my teacher for a Coaching intensive course I took at NYU. I signed up for this course shortly after my own battle with cancer and honestly, her amazing teaching helped me feel alive and motivated to move onto the next phase of my life. She taught me to really listen to people, to see them as they are, not how I think they should be and to look at myself in a more honest way. Her teaching has helped me be a better spouse, mother, and friend. What a meaningful legacy. I will never forget her.

Sending love and condolences to the Killmeyer’s. I am so sad to hear of Joanne’s passing. Joanne was a dear friend who was full of energy, generosity and spirit. We were colleagues and friends during our time at George Washington University doctoral program. Working with Joanne was always a joy as she was smart, hard working and always able to keep her sense of humor. She truly loved her family and spoke often of them. Above all, Joanne was a lovely, kind person who will be so missed by all.

Joanne you will be missed by all who knew you especially your family...remembering as young cousins and visiting in Springfield Gardens and your Mom's Swedish meatballs...and your Dad working hard as a butcher in Woodhaven to support his young family of three daughters...then on to New Hyde Park...and you pursuing higher education which was very important in your life...and then being romanced by the love of your life, Jack...I believe he used his skills as a Dale Carnegie facilitator to whoo you...
and then came the two bundles of joy, Todd and Jodianne...your life was complete...I have fond memories visiting you and Jack on Copeland Rd...and the Winey-Buckridge-Killmeyer Christmas gatherings will always be special to me...
so sweet Joanne, I say goodbye for now until we see each other at a family gathering with parents, grandparents and all were special in our lives...

Joanne will be greatly missed. She taught us so much about both life and death. She contributed to our world through her knowledge, life experience, laughter and love. Once all measures were exhausted for treating her illness, she showed us how to accept our transition to eternal life with serenity and composure and peace. We can all learn from her example. We take solace in knowing Joanne is with God, and is at a peace like no other.

Joanne’s family: I'm so sorry for your loss. I went through a similar situation and I was very helped by the hope that I found in the Bible in John 5: 28, which says, "Do not amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out". I am sending you a link with more information on this hope.

Eric and I are just devastated as we read the news this morning at our breakfast table in France. We already miss Joanne. What a light in the darkness. Such a beacon on a hill! As one who acknowledged her fallen state and received the awesome Grace of forgiveness through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, She beat us all into the presence of Our Eternal Father! Such joy for her! Such a hole in the lives of all who knew her! We pray for your comfort in His arms. We mourn and Rejoice with you.

Joanne was my friend for 42 years, beginning our work careers together. Over the years she taught me much professionally, emotionally and spiritually. She gave of herself so generously and was a joy to work with.
I feel her loss so deeply that I wonder how her family can bear it. I know your grief is intense and that your faith will sustain you in this dark hour.
Joanne fought so bravely supported by her loving family and many friends. She makes this world poorer for leaving us. I know we all will miss her.
Please accept my most sincere sympathy for your grievous loss.

I’m so sorry to hear of the passing of Joanne. She was an amazing and compassionate teacher. I had the honor of being in her NYU Executive Coaching Intensive 5 years ago. We kept in touch after classes ended and I was so pleased to have had the time to get to know her a bit outside the classroom. Joanne was a wonderful woman and totally dedicated to her profession and to coaching people to be their best. She will be greatly missed. I’m so blessed to have know her.
