Obituary of Philip A. Smith

Philip A. Smith, age 92, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 5, 2018, at St. Clare’s Hospital in Denville, NJ.
Phil was a decorated Navy veteran of WWII, serving in the Pacific Theater in the liberation of New Guinea, Borneo, the Philippines, and the occupation of Japan.
Phil was a graduate of Bernards High School (1944) in Bernardsville, NJ, and St. Bernard’s School (1940) in Gladstone, NJ. He attended Georgia Tech.
Phil was a plant design engineer and distribution manager for the Industrial Products division of the Singer Sewing Machine Company. In later years he was a branch manager and general manager of Jenson & Mitchell, Inc.
Phil is survived by his son, Thomas A. Smith from his marriage to Edith D. Smith; his daughter-in-law, Jessica Miller-Smith; and his granddaughter, Hanna M. Smith.
