Obituary of Marga M. Scielso

Marga Scielso (Humpfer), passed peacefully surrounded by family on May 25, 2018, at the age of 84.

Marga was a wonderful woman that was loved, is missed, and will always be cherished. Our “Ma,” as she was called by her grandchildren, “Hun,” as she was called by her husband, was an amazing wife, mom, daughter, and sister.

Marga was born in Hausen, Germany to Emma and Frans Humpfer.  At the age of 18 she met Bill while he was stationed with the U.S. Army in Germany.  After Bill finished his duties he returned to Germany where they were married in 1953.  Shortly after Marga and Bill settled in West New York, NJ and in 1962 they moved to Rockaway, NJ.

Marga loved to spend her time with her adoring family. She also enjoyed spending her time shopping, sewing, knitting, and going for walks.

Marga is survived by her beloved husband of 65 years, William P. Scielso of Rockaway,  NJ and her loving children Lori Pallay and Bill (Mindi) Scielso all of Rockaway, NJ.  She is the loving grandmother to Sheena, Talia (Francisco), Joey (Angela), Will and Hayden and great grandmother to Ava, Michael, and Jonathan.  She is also survived by her sisters Rosa Chemchick of Rockaway, NJ and Elfreda Holland of Germany.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday May 29th from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave Denville, NJ 07834 www.normandean.com.  Funeral services will be held at Norman Dean on Wednesday, May 30th at 10:00 a.m., followed by the Liturgy of Cristian Burial Mass at 11:00 a.m at St. Clements Pope & Martyr Church 154 Mt. Pleasant Avenue Dover, NJ 07801.  Interment will follow at Locust Hill Cemetery 168 N Sussex St, Dover, NJ 07801.
