Obituary of Mary Leyden

Mary A. Leyden (Bonner) passed away in Denville, NJ on April 23, 2018, at the age of 90.

 

Born in Brooklyn, NY to George and Johanna Hickey Bonner, she had lived in Brooklyn for most of her life before moving to Mt. Arlington, NJ in 2003, then to Rockaway Township, and finally to Denville, NJ 2 years ago.

 

She was a longtime employee of NY Telephone Company and former secretary of Holy Cross School in Flatbush, NY.

 

Mary was a kindhearted gentle spirit, a woman of great faith, who was loved by all who knew her.  She demonstrated a great love for all, especially animals and children. Her heart was pure and warm and her smile always loving and welcoming.

 

She was predeceased by her beloved husband William (Buddy) Leyden in 1985. She is survived by her loving cousin Patricia Hickey Berg. Mary was a caring and generous aunt and cousin to the Berg, Mackey and Stewart Families and a friend to many.

 

Visitation will be held on Monday April 30, 2018, at Norman Dean Home for Services 16 Righter Ave Denville, NJ 07834 www.normandean.comfrom 3PM – 5PM & 7PM - 9PM.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday May 1, at 10:30AM at St. Rose of Lima Church in Brooklyn, NY.  Interment will follow at St. Charles Cemetery in Farmingdale, NY.
